Crimson Sweet watermelon is a highly popular variety known for its high sugar content and sweet, juicy flavor. The oval or round melons, weighing up to 25 lbs, have light green rinds with dark green stripes and deep red, fine-grained flesh. Resistant to anthracnose and fusarium wilt, these watermelons mature in 85 days and thrive on vines that can grow up to 10 ft long. Favored for their excellent taste, Crimson Sweet watermelons are ideal for slicing or adding to salads. This open-pollinated variety, originating from a cross between Miles/Peacock and Charleston Gray watermelons, won the prestigious AAS Award in 1964 and remains a top choice for gardens across various climates. This watermelon has seeds (not seedless).

Seed Sowing Depth: 1/2-1 inch deep 

Sowing: Can direct sow after all danger of frost has passed. Or start indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost, in 4 inch pots.
