We believe this is the best holster on the market for a pistol with a weapon light – made for serious use! If you need a reliable, rugged, and durable pistol holster for work or other gun activities, this is the one – equipped with a retention mechanism and a mid-ride belt loop!

  • Retention mechanism SRS
  • Pistol locks in even without a weapon light
  • Available for both right- and left-handed users

Features

If the space-age plastic box holsters from some other manufacturers don’t appeal to you, choose US Duty Gear – this model is traditionally shaped to complement the contours of the pistol and light, without any unnecessary modern art edginess. The holster is made from SDR thermoplastic, designed to withstand all the wear and tear of work and other use.

  • Material is similar to Kydex but more durable SDR thermoplastic
    • The green holster has this as its finish, in the camo holsters there is a Cordura fabric on top
  • Tension adjustment screw under the holster for a perfect fit
  • LAP Lower Alignment Protector™ secures the muzzle, preventing the light from taking impacts
  • Due to the above mechanism, threaded barrels and muzzle devices won’t fit without some trickery (see more under Use)
  • The holster fits the model-specific pistol and light, as well as smaller lights, since the locking mechanism doesn’t rely on the light
  • The belt loop accommodates belts up to 58 mm / 2.25" wide
  • Maximum front sight height 9.9 mm / .39"
  • Weight with belt loop approximately 300 grams / 10.5 oz

Use

The holster is designed for use with a weapon light. However, as the pistol is secured in the holster by a plastic stopper that engages the muzzle, the SRS mechanism that locks into the ejection port (depending on the model), and the trigger guard base that presses against the holster frame, the pistol locks in place even without a weapon light – and the light can be smaller than the one the holster is optimally designed for. There is also an adjustment screw under the holster to tighten the fit to your taste.

Note: the holster fits the model-specific pistol in its basic form – without protruding, threaded barrels or muzzle devices. The maximum front sight height is 9.9 mm / .39". Most red dot sights also fit (the forward-extending Trijicon SRO likely won’t fit without modifications made at your own risk). The LAP system at the muzzle can also be removed if you want to explore options for mounting something on the muzzle. However, this probably requires a perfect fit between the pistol-weapon light combo and the holster, as the pistol will no longer be supported by the muzzle.

The holster comes with a mid-ride belt loop. The loop fits belts up to 58 mm / 2.25" wide. The belt loop attaches to the holster with a three-screw pattern similar to Safariland – so you can attach other mounting accessories that follow the same blueprint (like QLS or Blade-Tech equivalents).

Level 2 & 3

What do these levels mean? They refer to the level of retention in the holster. Level 1 means there’s no additional retention mechanism, and the pistol stays in place through friction. Level 2 means the holster has one mechanism – either a hood, strap, or trigger guard/ejection port locking mechanism. Level 3 means there are two locking mechanisms.

This Level 2 holster’s retention mechanism is achieved through the SRS lock (Safety Retention System) that engages the ejection port. This lock is released by a thumb lever.

Did they add pheremones to this??
Pattern Name: Heartbeat Sheep Grey
So when my puppy first came home to me I bought this to try to help him keep calm through the night. He wasn't able to sleep through the night, but he did sleep more than I had expected. The next couple of nights he was able to sleep through the night completely (but liked to wake up at 5 am...). Fast forward to a month later, and I no longer turn the heart on all the time (because I forget). But I did buy a re-chargeable heart because having to keep buying batteries is a pet peeve for me. He still loves to sleep with it as it's another snuggle spot that helps keep him warm (short haired mini dachshund, so not much fur to keep himself warm) in the kennel. During the day though, he loves to drag this thing out of the kennel and "wrestle" with it. He shakes it a lot like all dogs like to do to "kill" it, and he's chewed the tail and nose worn. But the reason I say it has pheremones is that at 10 weeks old (which was younger than my last dogs' puberty age), he's humping it like there's no tomorrow. If I need to get his attention, or keep him out of a certain area, all I need to do is bring this out of kennel, and he's off humping the stuffing out of it. His brother (who belongs to my mother and is from the same litter), does the same thing. So now I have to wonder if they added some pheremones to it so that it's really "lovable". It was actually pretty hilarious because I was face-timing my mother showing her my dog with this anxiety toy, and he decided to perform his first humping act on air. So I'm not sure I can say it did it's main job to calm anxiety, but it did act as companion (in more ways than one) to my dog. My dog is almost 4 months old now and this toy is still going strong... well, the neck could use a sew, and the tail is on it's last leg, but he loves his girlfriend just the way she is.

Heartbeat stops working after a few seconds
Pattern Name: Heartbeat Sheep Grey
It's a really cute toy. The heart beats only for a few seconds then stops. I thought about exchanging it, but reading the reviews it looks like it is an issue with the mechanism itself. I found a pack of 2 replacement hearts from another company and so far it seems to be working.

Anxiety Relief for Elderly Dog
Pattern Name: Heartbeat Sheep Grey, Pattern Name: Heartbeat Sheep Grey
My son and daughter-in-law's 13 year old Chihuahua has been suffering from separation anxiety, and just general anxiety during the covid19 lockdown. While she's in dental school, he's been living with us full time, and she was living at school during the week and with us on weekends. But with campus closed down, there's full-time school anxiety from doggie Mom, and going to work in a plague anxiety from doggie Dad. And nobody has much time for poor stressed out doggie, who barks and whines and is generally unpleasant. The only thing that seems to calm him down is to hold him. All. Day. Long. None of us has time. I decided to see if what works for puppies might work for an old man dog too. Guess what, it does! I started by holding the dog and the lamb on my lap for an evening while watching TV. The next morning I put the lamb in a bed next to my computer while I worked, and he climbed into the bed himself. He never would have done that before! You can't see the lamb in the picture, it's tucked under the canopy. The heartbeat is very relaxing- you do hear it, but it's more like you feel it than hear it, really. I have to admit that the first night when I was holding him, the heartbeat put me to sleep too. When my daughter-in-law came down for lunch, she took dog and lamb back up with her, and he slept with the lamb all afternoon and let her study without interruption. I don't know how long the batteries will last, or how hard they will be to change, but so far this has been a real comfort to an anxious old man dog. ETA- I've ordered batteries (40 for $6.99), and I may order another lamb for upstairs so we don't have to remember whether it's on Mom & Dad's or Grandma's floor. He's a much happier dog.

Pillow is Unsafe
My eleven month old Cavalier, Lacey, loved this heartbeat pillow for about two hours. She carried it everywhere. Then she located the velcro opening. She ripped it open, pulled out the stuffing. I stuffed the heart in the bottom but I cannot locate it in the pillow nor have I found it anywhere in my home. Velcro closure is not enough to keep a curious puppy from figuring out how to open the pillow. Would I recommend this product: No I do not recommend this item. It was a total waste of my hard earned $. The closure needs to be reworked/improved. As it is now, do not leave your puppy alone with this heartbeat pillow because it is not safe! The only positive is it kept Lacey from barking for two hours while she played with it. I cannot attest that it would have helped her severe separation anxiety and yelping every time I leave the house. Lynne Weston Amazon Customer
