The frame of the Look Gravel RS is made with a specific carbon layup that is unique to an off-road bike. With over 30 years of carbon construction experience, Look is able to dial in the exact needs of each bike they manufacture. The layup consists of 35 percent high modulus carbon, 40 percent intermediate, 10 percent high resistance carbon, and 15 percent specific fiber. This balance of materials helps to create a frame that is as lightweight as a road bike, compliant as an endurance bike, and as durable as a gravel bike needs to be to survive any adventure. Using high grades of carbon also results in a stiff frame that maximizes pedaling performance without sacrificing the comfort needed for a long and difficult ride.

Compliance is always a huge part of a gravel bike, but it cannot come at the expense of weight or speed. Look solved this problem by creating 3D Wave Stays. These stays are designed with two deflection points which enable a 15 percent increase in natural compliance to the carbon. They also chose to flatten the seat tube, creating more vertical compliance without affecting its lateral stiffness. These features help dissipate vibration through the frame from various terrain while increasing traction control on unforgiving surfaces. It does all of this without increasing the weight of the frame.
