So the goal was to create a Vibe that was easy to use, compact, highly tweakable, and respectful of your original signal. The Aquarium benefits from a 100% analog design and proves to be extremely efficient.

So the goal was to create a Vibe that was easy to use, compact, highly tweakable, and respectful of your original signal. The Aquarium benefits from a 100% analog design and proves to be extremely efficient.

Externally, the pedal adopts an elegant case. It is machined "in house", from cutting to drilling. We are in the usual "boutique", with very good quality PCBs, selected components and a pedal that will take the worst treatment. The Aquarium offers 2 different speeds and the possibility of adjusting the transition speed between them via a toggle-switch. There are also controls for Volume, Tone, Mix, Intensity and another switch called Mix Mode which will allow you to choose between 2 options: Blend or Mix (parallel).

Plugged into a good Strat on an amp with a very slight breakup, the Aquarium does wonders. We start by very gently pushing the Volume, which will slightly saturate the amp's input stage and give you that typical sound of a slightly "dirty" and organic vibe. The effect is superb, the LFO curve is very musical, the pedal does not modify your signal in any way and when used with a Fuzz, it does not crash and keeps its presence (thanks to the Tone control which does not sound 'muddy'). The possibility of having the effect in parallel via the mini Mix switch is an excellent idea. This allows you to keep all the dynamics of your basic sound.

The Cornerstone Aquarium is a great vibe with a signature all its own. Its price positioning makes it rather accessible compared to the standards of the genre. The sound is there, the very complete settings, it's beautiful!
