Add early-season beauty and vital pollinator support to your shade garden with Jacob’s Ladder (Polemonium reptans), a native perennial known for its clusters of lovely violet-blue, bell-shaped flowers and distinctive fern-like foliage. This charming woodland wildflower blooms for several weeks in April and May, providing one of the first nectar and pollen sources for emerging bees and other spring pollinators.

Jacob’s Ladder thrives in part shade to full shade and moist, well-drained soil, making it a perfect addition to shaded borders, woodland gardens, or native plant beds.

Key Features:

  • Supports Early-Season Pollinators: Offers nectar and pollen when few other flowers are in bloom
  • Shade-Loving & Low-Maintenance: Ideal for full to partial shade with minimal upkeep
  • Long-Lasting Blooms: Violet to lavender flowers brighten the spring landscape
  • Perennial Beauty: Returns year after year with minimal care
  • Deer Resistant: Unpalatable to deer once established
  • Pollinator-Safe: Grown non-GMO and free of harmful neonicotinoids, promoting a healthy ecosystem for pollinators and wildlife.

Available in sets of three, six, or 12 plants — perfect for creating a soft, naturalized look in shaded spaces.

Planting Tips:

  1. Location: Best suited for areas with part to full shade. Prefers moist, well-drained soil rich in organic matter.
  2. Watering: Water regularly during establishment; becomes more drought-tolerant once mature
  3. Maintenance: Minimal care required. There's no need to deadhead the flowers, as allowing them to go to seed provides a valuable food source for birds. Leaving the stems standing in the fall offers overwintering sites for beneficial insects. If desired, cut back the stems in late spring after pollinators have emerged.

Great Ball
Size: 6 Inch, Color: Red
Our Little Goldendoodle Loves this ball & I like that it has so many straps to grab so I'm not getting the slimy part. It does not come already inflated so make sure you or a neighbor have an air compressor to blow it up because even though it came with a little pump I can't imagine how many weeks I'd have been pumping that without noticing any difference.

Virtually indestructible
Size: 8 Inch, Color: Red
Long lasting ball for a large dog. Bought the first one a few years ago. Its been outside all this time, still full of air and was virtually impossible for my large dog to destroy it. The weather affected the surface so ordered a new one. This has outlasted all the other balls.

Great toy for larger dogs
Size: 8 Inch, Color: Pink
This is holding up pretty well with my Great Pyrenees pup. She was able to pull all of the tags off-but the ball is intact for several weeks!

So much fun
Size: 8 Inch, Color: Pink
Best money ever spent hours of fun. We have 3 dogs. They all love to play with this toy. We got the size 3 large is what we ordered. I'm not going to lie I thought it would be bigger when I ordered it. Two of our dogs are large breeds and the other is medium. It's not too big for the medium to play with it. It comes with a ball pump included so convenient. The little tabs are very durable. I can't recommend this enough. This has no squeaking or any sounds. It's nice that you can play with your four legged companion or you can have them play tug or just enjoy pushing the ball around. It is very versatile in play and stimulation.
