Snow Princess Hardy Water Lily — Miniature White Gem for Small Ponds & Tubs

The Snow Princess Hardy Water Lily is a true miniature hardy water lily with pure-white blooms (1–2") floating over tiny green pads (1–4"). A dependable perennial pond plant, it flowers from late spring into fall and is perfect for patio bowls, whiskey barrels, and compact water gardens where space is limited but elegance is essential.

Why Customers Love It

  • Tiny, snowy blooms that sparkle in small spaces

  • Heavy bloomer in full sun with simple tablet feeding

  • Container-friendly: thrives in 6–12" shallow pots

  • Hardy & reliable—returns every year with minimal care

Plant Requirements (quick reference)

  • Sun: Full sun, 6+ hours of strong midday light

  • Container: 6–12"+ wide, shallow aquatic container (fabric pots preferred)

  • Depth (soil surface → water surface): 3–12" (best at 3–8" for more flowers)

  • Spread: ~1–2 ft at maturity

  • Soil: Heavy loam topsoil only (no bagged mix, peat, or gravel)

Care & Fertilizing (simple schedule)

  • Fertilizer tablets: 2–3 tablets on the 1st & 15th each month (May–September)

  • Application: Press tablets 2–3" into the soil around (not on) the crown

  • Maintenance: Trim spent blooms/yellow leaves; divide annually if the rhizome reaches the pot edge

Water Lily Planting Tips

  • Plant shallower (5–12")

  • Keep surface water open and unshaded—pads are “solar panels” for flowers

  • Never cover the crown with stones or gravel; leave it slightly exposed

  • Use wide, shallow containers to encourage rhizome run and more blooms

  • Still water shows blooms best; avoid heavy splashing or aeration

Do’s & Don’ts

Do

  • Plant in full sun and heavy loam

  • Fertilize twice monthly for continuous blooming

  • Repot immediately on arrival; keep all parts wet while planting

Don’t

  • ❌ Don’t use compost/peat mixes, “aquatic media,” or gravel (they float, rot, or smother crowns)

  • ❌ Don’t let floating plants shade Snow Princess—light drives flowering

  • ❌ Don’t plant too deep (>12") if you want frequent blooms

Okay
I like that it fits my umbrella well, hinges open for easy application and removal, and that it has enough light for us to see our food at night. I do not like that half of the outer lights do not work part of the time until I take out the batteries and swap them around. Fine enough for the price, not worth the hassle of returning.

Easy to use.
Works well. Light is bright. Our new patio umbrella does not have e a center pole, so the lights get somewhat blocked. But still pretty useful.

Easy portability & Strong umbrella support
Size: 19inch
Its exactly as advertized! Pros: • rolls well • medium sized (not a tripping hazard & corner fit under the edge of all my furniture) • holds tall (through center of table) umbrella while open in minor wind with water-filled option. • multiple size umbrella pole insert included • Clear instructions. • easy to use brakes (on 2 wheels for security...4 wheels would be annoying to use every day) Cons: • will still roll with brakes on with a little force when I'm being lazy...it should not be this easy (I usually have a corner of the stand tucked under a piece of furniture anyways) • I would call this "light heavy duty" rather than "sturdy heavy duty" with water-filled option. I'd imagine sand + water as suggested would actually be heavy duty. • re-design suggestion: base of umbrella could extend down below the water tank for sturdier hold, but this is the best I've found.
