Rise and shine: It's a new day rising with the JHS Pedals Morning Glory Clean! This version of JHS's classic transparent overdrive punches in with a warmly welcomed, blissfully simple, "Why didn't I think of that before?" feature with a clean blend control designed from the ground up. As an additional option to the Morning Glory's current mainline production model, the JHS Morning Glory Clean arrives just in time for perfectly balanced mixes of unaffected cleans and the pedal's iconic Bluesbreaker-style overdriven boost.

The JHS Morning Glory has amassed quite a reputation through multiple design generations and acclaim from the (many) transparent overdrive fiends of the world. Hearkening to classic Bluesbreaker overdrive effects, the Morning Glory's principle tone is designed for elevated playability, outstanding touch response and clarity, and a helping dose of oomph for ravenous tube amps.

This new version comes at the heels of a conversation between JHS Pedals founder Josh Scott and jazz guitarist Julian Lage. The guitarist, known for his pristine balances of tube warmth and sparkly, single-coil clarity, inspired Scott to take his classic transparent overdrive back to the drawing board for a foundational, yet now retrospective no-brainer, revision: A clean blend control.

At the heart of the Morning Glory Clean is an ultra-high headroom overdrive, as you'd hear in other Morning Glory versions. Though of course, JHS did not just slap a clean blend control on the Morning Glory circuit and call it a day, this Morning Glory circuit was in fact designed the other way around, after a premium, studio-grade parallel clean blend.

This clean blend utilizes a dual-gang potentiometer that scales proportionately with the driven signal – as dictated by the Drive knob. Here, the two signals, your affected and unaffected, play harmoniously with no unexpected jumps in volume, phase issues, or anything of that sort. What's more, this Morning Glory goes another step ahead with a Tone control that only affects the driven signal output to keep your parallel cleans completely untouched.

The JHS Morning Glory Clean is primed for play with any sort of guitar (basses particularly love it for its friendliness toward low-end signal cleanups). Run any assortment of drive devices up or downstream for unprecedented compatibility and effective signal shaping. Standard nine-volt DC power requirements bring the Morning Glory Clean to any board effortlessly.

For the legions of Morning Glory fans clamoring for even greater control and compatibility over all the years, your wait is up. It ain't easy being clean.

In depth, scholarly book from an American perspective of World War II. The discussion of the home perspective on the war was enlightening. An excellent read. Comprehensive look at the American political world from depression to World War.

Format: Kindle
Trying to distill WWll down to a little over 400 pages is a Herculean task but Mr. Kennedy does a serviceable job. He provides thumbnail sketches of the major players' personalities and tics. He does an admirable job of jumping back and forth between the European and Pacific theaters of operation, always keeping in mind America's POV in explaining how FDR and his staff dealt with their fractious, troublesome allies. He explains how the Rosie the riveter myth is pretty much a fabrication and how America's approach to manufacturing was able to out produce the German mode of war production: America going for Quantity vs. the German fixation with Quality. Lots interesting information and facts. There are areas where I thought he could have used more depth such as the death of FDR (probably no more than two pages.if that); Mussolini and Hitler's last hours are given mere paragraphs; Churchill being voted out of office just months shy of victory in Europe is given maybe two paragraphs and while he mentions how Tibetts went to the airplane factory to pick the future Enola Gay off the assembly line he gives short shrift the immensely expensive and technically complex challenge of building the A-bomb. Nor does Mr. Kennedy mention that when HST hinted to Stalin that America had an powerful new weapon Stalin was all ready aware of the activities going on at Trinity and of the Manhattan Project. Mr. Kennedy doesn't offer any new information or insights but this is a good, one-book overview, of the war.

Thorough But Easily Read Historical Account
Format: Paperback
I bought this book thinking it would be an account of civilian life in the U.S. during WWII. But I was surprised to see that it focused almost exclusively on the military campaigns and the decisions behind them. There was sporadic mention of life on the homefront, but mostly the book is a book about the war. Which is not a criticism. Kennedy deftly and thoroughly takes us through the war, outlines for us the challenges and opportunities and how the leaders of the affected nations developed their strategies. In addtion to the fine details of history, Kennedy writes in such a fashion that this book will probably appeal to the scholar and the layman with equal strength. As someone long in the tooth, I knew most of the history of WWII, but if you are younger and want a comprehensive, well-written history an epic period in world history, you could do a lot worse than read this compelling book.
