The Celestial Fig, also known as the "Sugar Fig," is celebrated for its rich sweetness, exceptional quality, and abundant fruiting. This compact, hardy fig tree is perfect for home gardeners looking to enjoy fresh, delectable figs right from their backyard. Whether planted in the ground or a container, the Celestial Fig is a beautiful, easy-to-maintain addition to your garden.

Key Features

  • Delicious Fruit: Produces small to medium-sized figs with purplish-bronze skin and a lusciously sweet, pinkish-amber interior. Perfect for fresh eating, preserves, and desserts.
  • Extended Harvest Season: Yields two crops per year – a light breba crop in early summer and a heavier main crop from late summer into fall.
  • Compact Growth: Ideal for small spaces, this fig tree’s manageable size makes it suitable for containers and urban gardens.
  • Cold Tolerance: Offers better resistance to cold weather than many fig varieties, making it a reliable choice for various climates.
  • Attractive Foliage: Features deeply lobed, lush green leaves that add ornamental appeal to your landscape.

Mature Size

  • Height: 10–15 feet (can be pruned smaller for containers)
  • Spread: 8–12 feet

USDA Hardiness Zones

  • Zones 7–10 (with proper winter protection, it may survive in Zone 6).

Care Instructions

  • Soil Requirements: Thrives in well-drained soil with a pH range of 6.0–7.5.
  • Sunlight: Requires full sun (at least 6–8 hours daily) for optimal fruit production.
  • Watering: Water consistently, but avoid overwatering. Allow the topsoil to dry slightly between waterings.
  • Fertilization: Feed with a balanced fertilizer in early spring and mid-summer to support growth and fruiting.
  • Pruning: Prune in late winter to remove dead or weak branches and to shape the tree for better air circulation and light penetration.
  • Winter Protection: In colder zones, mulch heavily around the base and consider wrapping the tree or providing frost cloth for additional protection.
  • Pest & Disease Management: Generally pest-resistant, but keep an eye out for scale or aphids. Ensure good airflow to prevent fungal issues.

Used Watch?
Color: Black/Gray/Digital
The watch is great but the watch had been worn. The protective film was removed and it was loose in the watch box and not on the plastic holder. I bought a new watch not a used one. Joe

My last Timex and why.
Color: Black/Gray/Digital, Color: Black/Gray/Digital
New edit. Upon further reflection, I’ve only had, a couple of exploratory years with Swatch excepted, Timex watches. My first one was when my mother replaced the Chicita Banana “tickity tock” sticker with a real Timex wind up watch before my first Cub Scout camp. In addition to many other Timex products, I’ve had these Ironman watches for the past 25+years. Usually the band wears out and can’t be replaced after three or four years. This particular watch fell apart less than six weeks old. It wasn’t hit by impact. It just came apart while I was driving down the road. I wonder if they’ve changed their manufacturing process. See photo for details. What is truly infuriating is that rather than replacing it, because it is truly a warranty issue, the told me to ship it to their offshore repair facility (which could take 3-5 months) and pay what might be half the value of the watch. Things happen, but the intentional friction they have created to avoid their obligations borders on malpractice and speaks to their indifference toward customer experience and subsequent lifetime value.
