EarthQuaker Devices Hoof Hybrid Fuzz Pedal

Like the six mighty hooves of Thor's chariot pulling rams, The Hoof rains down a colossal amount of Fuzzy goodness from high above. Fatter, Fuzzier, and altogether Bigger than the Big Muff Pi is "The Hoof" from EarthQuaker Devices, the thickest sounding fuzz pedal you're likely to ever hear. Brought to you by the tinkering masterminds of EarthQuaker Devices in Akron, Ohio, these boutique pedals are handmade and fully analog. The Hoof features 4 Tone-Shaping Controls: Tone, Shift, Level, and Fuzz. The Tone and Shift potentiometers allow you to dial in the EQ curve of your liking, shaping the overall amount of treble, bass, and mids present in the tone. While the Level control regulates the volume of the pedal, and the Fuzz control determines the amount of hairy fuzz you want. If you're after one of the best sounding, handmade, fully analog, Fuzz pedals to run through your favorite guitar or bass rig, look no farther than The Hoof from EarthQuaker Devices!

Description

The Hoof is loosely based on the classic green Russian fuzz circuit and features a hybrid Germanium/Silicon design, pairing maximum tone with maximum temperature stability not found in finicky and expensive vintage units. The tinkering masterminds at EarthQuaker Devices hand-matched their NOS Germanium transistors to exacting specifications for pedal-to-pedal consistency, taking the guesswork out of your fuzz purchase, and guaranteeing that your Hoof delivers  smooth, natural, and harmonically-rich sustain.

Features

Shift: This adjusts the mid content, clockwise for scooped mids, counterclockwise for boosted.

Tone:
Bass to the left, Treble to the right.

Level:
Use this control to make the Hoof louder or quieter.

Fuzz:
Clockwise for heavy, counterclockwise for light.

Switching
This device is true bypass and uses electronic relay-based switching. Audio will not pass without power.

Power
This device takes a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. We always recommend pedal-specific, transformer-isolated wall-wart power supplies or multiple isolated-output supplies. Pedals will make extra noise if there is ripple or unclean power. Switching-type power supplies, daisy chains and non-pedal specific power supplies do not filter dirty power as well and let through unwanted noise.

DO NOT RUN AT HIGHER VOLTAGES!

Good buy, great fit!
Size: 12, Color: White
Very satisfied with the fit, style, and quality of these shoes. Usually scared to buy shoes online due to the sizing issues or difficulty. These were no sweat. Good delivery as well.

Doesn't really slip on too well.
Size: 11, Color: White, Size: 11, Color: White
Doesn't really slip on too well. Also, since the heel is ridged it unintentionally allows my heel to slip out while walking.

Really like these for casual summer outfits
Size: 10.5, Color: White
These are really nice kicks. Stylish, comfortable, and eye catchy for sure. Not too heavy, good price, and fit well. These are great, casual white shoes for a summer outfit. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars as these do pick up and hold onto dirt and smudges more than I’d like to see. Yes, I know, white shoes are magnets for this stuff, but these tend to scuff and discolor more than I would have assumed. I live in an area with lots of bad weather most of the year so I only get a chance to wear them for a few months of the year unless I want to brave the wet and muddy weather. If you live in an area that has lots of sun and are willing to put these to the test and clean them often, I would say go for it.
