The Overall Plant

The Windmill Palm is a medium-sized palm tree, typically reaching heights of 25 feet, with a spread of 8 to 12 feet. It is native to central China but has become a popular ornamental plant in temperate regions worldwide. The tree has a single trunk covered in a dense, fibrous matting, which provides insulation against cold temperatures, making it one of the most cold-hardy palms available. Windmill Palms are suitable for USDA hardiness zones 8 to 11, and they can tolerate temperatures as low as 5°F (-15°C) when properly acclimated.

The Foliage

Windmill Palm trees feature large, fan-shaped leaves that can grow up to 3 feet in length. The leaves are divided into numerous narrow segments, giving them a graceful and delicate appearance. These leaves are arranged in a symmetrical crown at the top of the trunk, creating a striking silhouette against the sky. The foliage is evergreen, providing year-round interest and color to the landscape.

The Flowers and Fruit

In late spring, the Windmill Palm produces small, yellow flowers on long, pendulous flower stalks that emerge from the crown of the tree. The flowers are unisexual, with male and female flowers produced on separate trees. After pollination, female trees will produce small, round fruit that turns from green to blue-black as it ripens. The fruit is not typically eaten by humans but serves as a food source for birds and other wildlife.

Installed these on my Bronco as ditch lights. Very bright light and I like that you can have them be white or put the cover on them for and amber light look. Took about 30 minutes to install and wire to the upfitter switches. They shoot a wide angle covering your blind spots on dark roads. I got these to replace a three inch ditch light. They're made from heavy duty metal and stand up to the extreme weather. I like them so much that I purchased the seven inch lights and install them on the front bumper. For what they cost it was a price that I couldn't pass up. I highly recommend these lights.

I have had man different off road lights over the years for many different vehicles. Let me tell you about these 5” aux beams. I ordered these lights to go on my 2500 as ditch lights and I am beyond impressed! The lights showed up well packaged. When opening the box, the instructions where right on top and by far one if the easiest sets of instructions I’ve had for wiring diagrams. The lights were packaged and wrapped in foam all the way around to protect them from shipping. The wrapping of the lenses for scratch prevention was perfect. The included wiring harness was packed in a bag and laid out very easily for installation. The harness hooked to the battery and then to the lights with easy quick connects and had more than enough length to put the lights anywhere. Once they were mounted and installed I hooked them up to my aux beams switch panel with ease. Now for the lights! The brightness is beyond bright enough to see miles away! These lights will shine anything you could ever want to see. The spot flood combo work exceptionally well for all situations and darkness. The side shooter stretch them beam out to the sites and can see all the way across. The running lights tie in very easy with your turn signals for extra turn lights or running lights. Heavy duty is an understatement for the quality of these lights. I’m still running them after several months with no water intrusion and still as bright as the day I installed them. The price for what you get, is far beyond better than other top brands! I will be buying more of these for my next off roading set up!

Not as bright as the graph says they are, or maybe I'm not in a dark enough area at night. But they definitely are blinding. Were too big for my adv bike unfortunately, but they work good on my truck as ditch lights. Not too bulky looking like the cubes are and no wind noise that I can hear. Definitely lights up the wma trails and the side shooters are very helpful. I will note though that as soon as your hood gets dusty it becomes blinding from the inside side shooters though. so I painted the yellow lens cover on the inside sides and it helps a lot with the hood glare.
