CULTURE

Soil temperature: 72 - 75 degrees fahrenheit

Germination days: N/A
Plant spread: 6 inches
Plant height: 36''
Plant type: Perennial
Maturation days: 365 days

Iris will grow in zones 3-11 and prefer moist roots.  We grow them in our test gardens, and water them like all our other flowers, and they profusely flower from late March to May and provide dark green foliage until your first hard frost in the fall.  In the fall their leaves will brown where here in zone 7 we cut them back to the ground in late November.  Seed are easy to germinate but your plant will not flower the first year.  Once grown they are easy to subdivide and create new plants.

You can start indoor in pots, but if indoors they will have to be cold/wet treated first no matter the zone.  If starting in pots use a sterilized potting soil made of 1 part peat to 1 part sand, or you can use a commercial seed starting soil as long as it is sterile.  Add a small amount of water to about 1/4 cup of potting mix so your soil is moist and add your seeds.  Place inside a container, or baggie, and put in your fridge (not freezer) for 60 days.  Check half way through your cold treat period to see if you need to add more water.  After 60 days sow you mixture on top of your sterile potting mix.  Keep moist until germination.  Even if a seed fails to germinate by spring scatter your remaining potting mix in your garden as an Iris seed is good for up to 18 years.

If direct sowing its best to sow them in late fall.  Soak the the seeds in very warm tap water and let sit for eight hours and then sow on the surface of your garden bed and lightly dust with screened peat.   If you are in milder zones 8-11 cold treat before sowing.   In early spring you will see thick spear shapes leaves start to emerge from your garden bed.  Once they germinate the plants will come back every year without any cold weather.  We don't recommend direct sowing the seeds in spring or summer.

If you are cutting for your vase,  cut when the flower is still closed but has full color.  This will look like a thick pencil with a colored head.

Effective
Very good product, not sticky, made my skin feel hydrated, it is very effective and has no scent, the only downside is that while it is good for preventing ingrown hair if used consistently (2x a day on clean skin), it does nothing for pre-existing ingrown hairs.

My new Holy Grail product!
This is INCREDIBLE! Ok, firstly, let me say that I apply it after shaving and razor burn is a distant memory now. It has also taken down the drastic redness and red marks that previous shaving had left my skin w. My skin is smoother and softer now.. including my bikini area. Not to be tmi but, I have a c section scar, it’s nearly impossible to prevent ingrown hairs in that area bc of the scar tissue .. or so I thought! OMG , I’ll never give this stuff up ! It also helps w my back acne and is easy as pie to apply , doesn’t smell weird and absorbs nicely .. bonus points.. it will tame the zits on your bum too .. but wait .. there’s more ! My super pale sensitive skin on my legs has been forever marked w scars from shaving and always has little red marks besides that so I’ve always been insecure about my legs even though they’re long and strong .. dude .. I kid you not, this has been taking the red marks out and no more razor burns.. or bumps plus all of the scars are starting to fade !! This is a HOLY GRAIL PRODUCT! I had literally quit shaving my legs before this and now.. I’m feeling so much better about it & myself and omg thank you for this product! Never ever stop making it !

Decent Product
Ok so I would take this review with a grain of salt because I feel like the results of this product really just depends on how and when you use it. I received my peach slices roller after I already shaved so I’ve been using it as my hair is growing back. And what I can say is … it doesn’t make the ingrowns and all the marks go away, but it definitely makes them appear lighter and they’re not as prominent. However, if I had used this either before or during shaving, I might have gotten a different result. So , as far as it being effective, it’s really the difference between preventing the ingrown and then making them go away. but it’s very smooth and easy to use has a pretty neutral smell.

Staple item!
Seriously so thankful I found this Peach Slices ingrown hair product. I’ve struggled with bumps and irritation for so long, especially after shaving, and this has made such a noticeable difference. My skin feels smoother, less irritated, and the ingrown hairs have improved so much with consistent use. It’s gentle, easy to apply, and doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky or overly dry. Definitely one of those products I’ll keep repurchasing!

NEW HOLY GRAIL OF SKINCARE
Peach slices is now apart of my regular shaving routine. It got rid of old stubborn ingrowns after every hack in the book. Then it prevents new ones from forming. I’ve been using it for months. It has no smell so fragrance free. It’s also very moisturizing. The consistency is almost like a thinner aloe Vera. If it works my sensitive skin than I’m sure it would work for most skin types
