Blue Spider Tropical Water Lily

The Blue Spider Water Lily is an exotic tropical variety with blossoms that lean toward a rich, purple-blue hue. Each flower shows off elegant, pointed petals and a highly fragrant aroma that will fill your pond with summer sweetness. The contrast between the blooms and the strikingly patterned leaves makes Blue Spider one of the most unique pond plants for any collection. Known for steady blooming, this tropical water lily puts on a reliable and colorful display all season.

Typically reaching a spread of 4–5 feet, Blue Spider is considered a medium-sized tropical water lily. With extra feeding and a roomy pot, it can grow larger, rewarding you with extra blossoms and bold foliage. Plant it in full sun, fertilize consistently, and this water lily will deliver vibrant blooms right up until frost in cooler zones or year-round in warm climates.

🌱 Planting & Care Instructions

  • Water Lily Spread: 4–5 feet (larger with heavy feeding)

  • Suggested Pot Size: 9–14 inch wide fabric pond pots

  • Depth: 6–18 inches of water over the crown

  • Soil: Heavy loam (never bagged potting mix; compost will rot underwater)

  • Fertilizing: 3–4 Waterlily World Fertilizer Tablets on the 1st and 15th of each month (safe for fish & pond life)

  • Fragrance: Yes, highly fragrant

  • Winter Hardiness: Zones 9–12 (treat as annual elsewhere)

💡 PondMegastore Tip: Blue Spider’s perfume is strongest on sunny afternoons—plant it near a patio or sitting area to fully enjoy its scent.

✅ Do’s & ❌ Don’ts for Blue Spider Water Lily

Do’s
✅ Use a wide, shallow fabric pond pot (9–14 inches)
✅ Plant in heavy loam soil
✅ Fertilize twice monthly with 3–4 tablets during the growing season
✅ Place in full sun (6+ hours daily) for best flowering
✅ Maintain 4–5 feet of space for proper spread

Don’ts
❌ Don’t use bagged potting soil (too much compost = rot)
❌ Don’t let the rhizome crown be buried—keep the growing point exposed to sunlight
❌ Don’t add stone or gravel on top of soil—this often causes plant mortality
❌ Don’t skip fertilizer—this is a moderate-to-heavy feeder
❌ Don’t expect blooms in shade—direct sun is essential

Don't waste your money.
Instead of buying one from the local auto store, thought I'd save money and get this. Bad choice. Installed it and it didn't work. Took it to the auto shop to be tested and they said it didn't work. Cheap imitation of the the real thing.

Exceeds performance expectations of OEM fluids
Size: 5 Quart Jug
You know I didn't think it would work as well I've heard all these horror stories but you know what this works better than the factory CVT fluid this stuff is great this is amazing be very careful to get your levels correct that goes without saying with any transmission but once you do that this fluid is amazing I have a better performance than when I had the new transmission I serve my CvT 35 to 40,000 miles I'm using it in a 2018 Mitsubishi outlander base model and I'm also running Yokohama geolander 015s on it. If you worry about tires for you Mitsubishi or any vehicle. I'm going to say you'll call when you lander whether it's a car or crossover or an SUV this tire is amazing it's best all around tire and your rain traction is phenomenal

Good Stuff!! All low speed shudder is gone.
Size: 5 Quart Jug
I have a 2020 Nissan Altima SL 2.5l and Nissan is VERY specific about using ONLY NS3 transmission fluid. There are only a couple NS3 transmission fluid manufacturers...Nissan NS3 (Manufactured by Idemitsu), Idemitsu (a little cheaper than Nissan dealer), Triax, and Mannol (works good too). Seeing as Nissan is still using Jatco CVT transmissions which are known to be very troublesome, and very expensive to replace I wouldn't try any of the so-called "universal" transmission fluids just to save $50 and end up replacing a $6000 transmission. The Triax fluid seems to work very good in my car. I don't feel the shutter that I normally feel when driving slow and need to accelerate. The shudder is completely gone and operating smooth. The old fluid had 50k miles and it was very dirty but didn't smell burnt. I ended up doing 2 - 3 1/2 quart changes with 200 miles between the first and second change. I plan on doing another 3.5/4 quart change every 15k miles since there is no way to completely drain the 7.4 quarts of transmission fluid. The first change, only 3.5 quarts drained from the pan.
