Summary: The Albo Variegated Dragon Scale is a breathtaking miniature treasure, combining the dramatic, dragon-like texture of emerald leaves with enchanting white and cream variegation. Perfect for collectors who want a living piece of botanical art in their European home.

✨ Why You'll Love the Alocasia ‘Dragon Scale’ Albo Variegated

  • Rare and highly sought-after variegated foliage with silver-green scales and creamy-white marbling.
  • Compact baby size (P6, H12) ideal for windowsills, shelves, and terrariums in German apartments or European homes.
  • Each leaf is truly unique—no two variegation patterns are alike.
  • A collector’s dream plant that elevates your indoor jungle with a touch of the mythical.

🌞 Light & Placement

This Alocasia thrives in bright, indirect light. Direct sun can scorch its delicate variegated leaves, while too little light may reduce its beautiful white marbling. Perfect near east- or north-facing windows in European apartments.

💧 Water & Humidity

Keep the soil evenly moist but never soggy. Allow the top 2–3 cm of soil to dry between waterings. High humidity (60–80%) is essential—use a pebble tray or humidifier to mimic its tropical origins, especially during dry German winters.

🪴 Soil & Potting

Plant in a well-draining, airy mix rich in organic matter. A blend of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir works beautifully. Repot every 1–2 years or when roots outgrow the pot.

🐾 Toxicity & Safety

Not safe for pets. Keep away from cats, dogs, and curious little hands.

🌱 Growth & Propagation

As a baby plant, it will grow steadily into a medium-sized jewel with proper care. Propagation is best done by division of rhizomes during repotting. Leaves will unfurl one by one, rewarding your patience with striking variegation.

📆 Seasonal & Special Care

During winter, growth may slow or pause—reduce watering but maintain humidity. In spring and summer, feed monthly with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer to support lush foliage.

🐛 Common Issues

  • Crispy edges: usually caused by low humidity.
  • Yellow leaves: often from overwatering or poor drainage.
  • Spider mites: monitor closely, as they love Alocasia’s textured leaves.

🧬 Botanical Background

Native to Borneo, Alocasia baginda is celebrated for its armored, scale-like leaves that inspired the name “Dragon Scale.” The albo variegated form is exceptionally rare, adding creamy marbling that collectors worldwide prize. Grown carefully in the EU, this baby plant arrives healthy and ready to thrive in your home.

Direct replacement on my 95 SeaRay 175
Size: PP67-712 V1
My boat started to have issues with not turning over when I used the ignition switch. Replaced the switch and had no effect. Replaced the solenoid and that fixed the problem. Good price, so I replaced all 3 solenoids (Trim/ starter). Solenoids had all needed hardware (nuts/washers)

They Fixed My Boat
Size: PP67-712 V1
My boat wouldn’t start, and the outdrive wouldn’t go up or down. So I bought three of these solenoids and replaced the starter and both trim motor solenoids/relays. Now it starts right up with no problems and the trim motor is working again also. I have a 2006 Stingray boat.

Poor quality
Size: PP67-712 V1
Poor quality. Replaced a starter solenoid on a mercruser 4.3. Right off install it would click but not make a connection to start motor. Confirmed this was the culprit by jumping the terminals. After testing multiple times found it worked a little less than half the time.

Ya Just Gotta Have One
Size: 7.2 Surround + 3 HDMI
This is a must-have for in-wall wiring of your surround. I chose this one because I installed a 7.2 system with gold-plated jacks and it worked out great. You can get almost any combination of HDMI, subs/surrounds that you need (5.1, 5.2, 7.1, 7.2 etc). Do your planning on location and wire-routing; get good quality speaker wire and HDMI (high-speed with Audio Return Channel); get the remod-style mounting bracket/box then cut your hole at the same height/level as your electrical outlets and preferably between the same studs as your TV's wire-box so your HDMIs just run straight up to the TV (remember to install the bracket BEFORE you run your wires). When connecting the wires to these terminals, it's best to have 10 to 12 inches of wire coming out of the wall because you need space for your hands to manipulate the wires and nuts on the terminals. If you have a basement with access to the floor below the mounting location, it's best to drill 4 half-inch holes straight up through the bottom plate of the wall and feed your wires up those holes. Tip: If your TV and Surround Receiver are fully compatible you really only need 1 HDMI port on the wall plate, because you can plug your devices into the receiver and just sent the A/V/data to the TV while the audio is returned over the same HDMI.

Made a wire nest look fairly neat.
Size: 7.1 Surround + HDMI
My only complaint is that it wasn't available in black as it's in a dark walled home theater. However, it's behind the receiver so it's not real visible. It worked as expected and definitely kept the wiring neater and allowed me to run it through the walls.
