Spathiphyllum 'Pearl Cupido'

Spathiphyllum 'Pearl Cupido' is a compact peace lily with dark glossy leaves and neat white spathes. Its foliage rises cleanly from the base, forming a smaller clump with evergreen leaves and pale arum-type inflorescences.

The crown builds into a dense plant with a tidy upright spread. With bright indirect light, even moisture and warmth, Spathiphyllum 'Pearl Cupido' can produce small white spathes above the foliage.

Spathiphyllum 'Pearl Cupido' key traits

  • Plant type: Compact clump-forming Spathiphyllum in the Araceae family.
  • Foliage: Dark green glossy leaves with a tidy, upright spread.
  • Flowers: White spathes with a central spadix, produced from the crown.
  • Growth habit: Smaller Cupido-series plant with a dense basal clump.
  • Size: Compact growth keeps the clump dense and close in footprint.
  • Watering: Small pots dry faster, so moisture should be checked regularly.
  • Light: Bright indirect light gives better flowering than deeper shade.

Spathiphyllum 'Pearl Cupido' compact growth

Spathiphyllum 'Pearl Cupido' grows from a basal crown, with petioles rising directly from the potting mix. The compact habit gives the plant a full look while keeping the overall footprint small.

The white part of the inflorescence is the spathe, which surrounds the central spadix. Fresh spathes open pale, then age gradually as the plant moves through its normal flowering cycle.

Spathiphyllum 'Pearl Cupido' care guide

  • Water: Water when the upper potting mix has dried, then drain the pot fully.
  • Substrate: Use a fine but airy aroid mix that holds light moisture while letting oxygen reach the roots.
  • Light: Give bright filtered light or gentle partial shade; very dim placement reduces flowering.
  • Temperature: Keep above 18 °C and away from cold draughts.
  • Humidity: Moderate to higher humidity keeps leaf tips neater, especially in warm indoor air.
  • Repotting: Repot only when the clump is rootbound; a compact plant in an oversized pot stays wet for too long.
  • Propagation: Divide a mature clump at repotting, keeping rooted crowns intact.
  • Feeding: Use a diluted balanced fertiliser during active growth.

Spathiphyllum 'Pearl Cupido' common problems

  • Sudden drooping: Small pots can dry quickly; rewater evenly when the rootball has become too dry.
  • Yellow leaves: Wet substrate around a compact crown can damage roots and lower leaves.
  • Brown tips: Dry air, irregular watering or mineral-heavy water can mark the leaf ends.
  • Few flowers: A darker position usually means fewer spathes, even when the foliage stays green.
  • Soft crown growth: Check for a cold, wet root zone if new growth weakens or collapses.

Spathiphyllum 'Pearl Cupido' toxicity

Plant tissue contains calcium oxalate crystals. Keep Spathiphyllum 'Pearl Cupido' away from pets and children, as chewing can cause mouth and throat irritation.

Spathiphyllum 'Pearl Cupido' background

Spathiphyllum 'Pearl Cupido' belongs to the Cupido Series, a compact cultivated line of peace lilies with dark glossy foliage, basal clumping growth and white spathes.

Works great
Be careful NOT to get it on painted surfaces it will remove the paint. It does exactly what they say it does and if you follow the directions to the letter you won't have any problems

Worth the time and effort.
Perfect solution to my faded out, sun damaged gel coat. Follow the instructions to the letter for a factory-like shine. One bottle was barely enough for our 22' Winnebago, another bottle for our 29' Cabin Cruiser. Many compliments on the shine.

A quality product which will clean an oxidized fiberglass trailer in preparation for the application of Poli Glow
I used this to remove the Poli Glow previously applied about two years ago to my fiberglass trailer. It seems to do a slightly better job of removing the PG than the other Prep solution, but I didn't do a side-to-side comparison. And the surface never achieved a completely uniform appearance after the stripping, although this may not be possible because of differences in the remaining gel coat surfaces. I also completely washed the trailer with soap & water after using this stripping product. I didn't do this the previous time and thought some of the prep compound may have been left on the surface resulting in a shorter life. Time will tell. Note: it is still "work" to strip the trailer, this is not a "magic" solution, thus the 4-star rating. But it, along with the Poli Glow, was the only way to get my oxidized trailer to look shiny. All the other products tried failed to bring a glow. I will purchase it again when redoing the trailer.

Does not work.
Do not use this product. It has left my RV all splotchy. It looks terrible. I am trying to find something that will work. I wish I had never used Poly glow to start with.
