Monstera deliciosa 'Golden' ('Lemon Lime')

Monstera deliciosa 'Golden' ('Lemon Lime') is a warm-toned variegated Monstera with green leaves marked by yellow, lime or golden sections. The colour can appear brighter on fresh growth and soften as the leaf hardens.

The plant grows from a climbing Monstera deliciosa stem with nodes, petioles and aerial roots. With a stable root zone and vertical support, mature growth can produce broader leaves with the split and fenestrated shape associated with the species.

Golden Monstera leaf colour and mature growth

  • Leaf colour: Green foliage with yellow, lime or golden variegated areas.
  • Growth habit: A climbing aroid with aerial roots along the stem.
  • Leaf maturity: Larger leaves can become split and fenestrated as the plant develops.
  • Root needs: Thick roots need a breathable mix that drains freely after watering.

How Lemon Lime Monstera variegation develops

The leaves can sit within a warm yellow-green range, from lime-toned patches to deeper golden sections. Pattern and tone can vary between leaves, especially as new growth expands, hardens and settles into its mature colour.

The warm yellow-green colour is clearest on healthy new growth that expands cleanly. In warm filtered light, an aerated root zone and an upright stem give new leaves space to harden without crowding.

Golden Lemon Lime Monstera care

  • Light: Provide bright filtered light and protect pale yellow areas from direct midday sun.
  • Watering: Water when the upper mix has dried, then let excess water leave the pot freely.
  • Substrate: Use a chunky aroid mix with drainage and air pockets for thick roots.
  • Humidity: Keep humidity steady during new leaf expansion to reduce tearing and stuck growth.
  • Support: Train the stem upward early so developing leaves have space to open.
  • Feeding: Give a measured feed while new split leaves are forming; flush the chunky mix if yellow sections begin to brown at the edges.
  • Repotting: Repot into the next stable container once roots crowd the base, keeping the climbing stem upright during the change.

Common Golden Monstera leaf problems

  • Brown yellow tissue: Check sun exposure, root dryness, watering rhythm and temperature swings.
  • Crisping leaf edges: Review inconsistent watering, hot glass exposure and very dry air around new leaves.
  • Slow growth: Check root space, warmth, support and the amount of green tissue on the plant.
  • Root decline: Remove compacted wet substrate and improve drainage before watering again.

Golden Monstera safety

Monstera deliciosa 'Golden' ('Lemon Lime') contains calcium oxalate crystals and should not be chewed by pets or children. Sap from cut stems or leaves can irritate skin.

Monstera deliciosa species background

Monstera deliciosa is an Araceae species native to wet tropical forest from parts of southern Mexico to Guatemala. Monstera refers to the unusual mature leaf form, while deliciosa points to the ripe fruit produced by mature plants in suitable tropical climates.

The yellow-green tones of Monstera deliciosa 'Golden' ('Lemon Lime') sit on the classic Monstera deliciosa frame, with mature leaves forming as the plant climbs.

Cost-effective alternative that works well..
I used these spark plugs on my 2018 Cub Cadet XT2 riding mower as part of the spring preparation. The spark plugs were well packed and arrive in great shape and at the appropriate gap. No issues with starting or operating the mower. These Harbot plugs turned out to be a great cost-effective option for me.

Works well!
Style: 16 oz
This stuff works well. I've only ever used it after my tires had been punctured and ran flat... I haven't had a flat this wouldn't seal... 3 uses so far all 3 have fixed flats and been many miles put on since the repairs. I start with as little as possible and if it doesn't seal I just add more, I think I've managed to use far less than recommended and successfully sealed punctures. I've only used it on fat tire e-bike tires. I'm pretty comfortable with the seal and I have no plans to replace the tubes, which saves me a fair amount of trouble. I will update if it springs any leaks without new punctures. It's very easy to use and actually pretty clean especially compared to automotive type tire repair foams. The first repair I used it for was a brand new bike that just wouldn't hold air in the rear, totally unsure what caused it to keep losing air but 2 or 3 small doses of slime fixed it. The most recent slime repair, I had a wobbly bike ride which felt weird and I couldn't figure out why but a few hours after I had returned home both tires were totally flat. They both had a handful or more of some really heavy duty thorns stuck in the tire that likely barely punctured the tubes but the rear tire also had a roofing nail in it. I did not think the slime was going to fill that one, it was a pretty heavy leak once I removed the nail, but Slime did seal it and I've since ridden the bike twice and in the same rough conditions I normally would still holding strong at higher pressure than I normally ride, have yet to drop back down since refilling but I am hoping and expecting it won't be a problem. Two thumbs up. I always keep a small tube in my bike bag and I am confident if I ever need it while I'm out and about it will be useful.
