Tillandsia Caput Medusae, also known as Medusa's head plant, is an air plant that grows sturdy but soft snake-like leaves that resemsble the hair of Medusa. And when it blooms, the plant develops gorgeous blush, mauve and peach shades. Caput Medusae absorbs the majority of nutrients and water from the air though the scales (trichomes) on its leaves.
Tillandsia caput-medusae only uses its roots to cling to high trees or rocks. Since the exotic bromeliad does not require a substrate, there are many creative ways to cultivate it in living spaces. Thus, the head of Medusa with the bizarre snake-leaves perfectly puts itself in the limelight on branches, stones or cacti.
All of the plants may be shipped bare root. -
Bright filtered light.
No soil is needed. Sand, sea glass, rocks, pebbles & bark chip can be used instead of soil.
Frequent misting several times a week is necessary. Give it a little shake off afterwards to make sure water doesn't collect in the bottom leaves to prevent rot. Caput Medusae's leaves will begin to curl tightly when it is underwatered. - Zone 10 (30F)

**UPDATE ON PDT*** Ingredients changed
Ok here’s my update (4/4/26)
We loved it. It did what it was supposed to do in the beginning but now I stopped using the product. Ingredients must’ve changed. It’s now a darker color, it doesn’t dissolve like it did in the past, and worst part— my daughter’s hair started breaking off. It could just be her hair but I don’t want to take chances. The ingredients definitely changed.
We are trying azure batana and will stick with it for 3 months to see results. But as of now their product looks like the real deal. It’s a shame because I like consistency. I’ll stick with one product for years. Oh well. Tossed this one out.

Yes it works. It smells so if you’re sensitive to smells, you might only want to use it as a deep conditioner. Both my daughter & I are adjusted to the smell and love the results so we can easily prioritize our results over the less than fragrant odor. But the results!!!
My daughter lost 40% of her hair a yr ago to severe scalp ezcema (+ a trip to St Martin’s beautiful yet salty water). We used other products with marginal success. I started using this product 2 months ago & I already see results. We use it twice weekly as a spot treatment along the crown & nape of her head, and deep condition with it twice monthly. Her locs are growing and more importantly, her edges and nape are recovering tremendously. We’re going to keep at it!! We like the texture (moist but not sticky), it leaves her locs moisturized but not weighed down. Her hair is drinking it up. Will repost after 2 more months.

The smell.
It really does smell like coffee. Contrary to some of the comments, the coffee smell doesn't go away right away.
Waiting to see the results.

Healthy Hair Boost — Still Watching for Growth
Size: 4.05 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Size: 4.05 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I’ve been using this Batana Oil for a little while now, and while I won’t claim any dramatic hair growth (but I started from a clean shave; so you be the judge), I will say my hair definitely feels healthier.
The texture is thick (more like a paste), so a little goes a long way. I usually warm it up in my hands before applying, and it spreads much easier that way. It has a natural, earthy scent.
What I have noticed is:
* My hair feels softer and more moisturized
* Less dryness, especially at the ends
* Overall looks a bit more nourished and stronger
As for hair growth, it’s growing at the same pace I think, but I do feel like my hair is improving in quality, which is a great start.
If you’re looking for a natural product to support healthier hair, this is worth trying. Just be patient and consistent!
