Each leaf develops its own unique pattern, contributing to its collector appeal. This is the true species Philodendron pedatum and can be distinguished from similar-looking plants by its smooth green petioles. The much more common ‘Florida Beauty’ is a hybrid that uses pedatum as a parent and typically has rougher, often reddish or bumpy petioles. This plant is a vigorous hemiepiphyte and benefits greatly from vertical support such as a moss pole or trellis, which encourages larger and more mature leaf development. It grows best in bright, indirect light with evenly moist, well-draining soil and warm, stable conditions.
