• Leaves: fleshy, smooth or covered with bloom (protective layer), in various shades of green, gray, silver, red, or purple
• Flowers: small but very decorative – may appear in spring or summer
• Forms: from compact rosettes (Echeveria, Sempervivum) to branched stems (Crassula, Sedum, Euphorbia)

• Light: prefers bright light or direct sun for a few hours a day
• Soil: very well drained – special substrate for cacti and succulents
