🌞 Light & Placement
Thrives in bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun to prevent scorching delicate variegated foliage. Ideal for bright bathrooms, plant cabinets, or east-facing windows.
💧 Water & Humidity
Keep soil consistently moist but not soggy. Requires high humidity (above 60–70%) to maintain crisp, healthy leaves. Mist regularly or use a humidifier, especially during dry European winters.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Prefers a chunky, airy aroid mix with peat, perlite, and orchid bark for drainage and root aeration. Repot every 1–2 years to refresh nutrients and support growth.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Toxic to pets if ingested due to calcium oxalate crystals. Keep away from cats and dogs to prevent irritation or stomach upset.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
Slow-growing with new leaves developing intense dragon scale texture and mint variegation as it matures. Propagate via division of offsets during repotting for best success.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
Reduce watering slightly in winter when growth slows. Maintain stable warmth above 18°C and high humidity to avoid leaf drop or stress. Fertilise monthly during spring and summer with a balanced, diluted liquid fertiliser.
🐛 Common Issues
Prone to spider mites or thrips in low humidity conditions. Yellowing or browning leaves often indicate overwatering or cold drafts. Inspect regularly and maintain optimal environmental conditions.
🧬 Botanical Background
