Developed by Karen Zimmerman of the Huntington Botanical Gardens, 'Brown Betty' is a result of a cross between Aloe 'KG# 5' and 'Aumakua Mano'. Thriving in cool sun to light shade and requiring low water irrigation, this evergreen hybrid is moderately frost-tolerant, with a winter hardiness range of 25-30°F. 'Brown Betty' is primarily grown for ornamental purposes, adding visual interest to landscapes whether cultivated in containers or planted in garden beds.
