Perhaps just me I seem to remember everyone grew these in my youth - attracted by their large reliable blooms, colours and long flowering season. Perhaps they fell out of fashion but Hydrangeas are fantastic plants for the border, pots, or as standalone feature plants. The flower colours (with the exception of white) can be adjusted by changing the acidity of the soil - in a nutshell adding some ericaceous compost to make the soil more acid, or adding lime to make it less so.

Germination Guide
- Can be sown any time but Spring easiest
- Soak the seeds in water for 12 hours, then rinse
- Prepare pots of well-draining compost mix
- To reduce the changes of rot/fungus, it is good practice wash pots and sterilise compost (microwave it on full power for a few mins and allow to cool)
- Plant 3 or 4 seeds per pot
- Push seeds into compost but do not completely cover as light required for germination
- Mist with water
- Keep at 15-20C in a bright spot
- Germination takes from 2-4 weeks depending on conditions
- Pot on once large enough to handle

Easy install
Just installed in our bathroom. Feels solid. We have a potted plant on it now. You will want a drill bit extender to clear the shelf. I use the flexible type. Otherwise you won’t be able to get the screws in at a 90 degree angle.

Very nice, well made.
The nine-inch oak shelf is well made, and is 45 degrees. The wall where I planned to install it was not, and I suspect this is the problem some of the reviews saying the shelf was not made at 45 degrees. In my case, we removed wood a bit at a time until we achieved a good fit. We did receive all of the hardware, but beware. The plastic straight insert anchors do not snug up with the supplied screws. However we used the supplied plastic toggles with better results. The hardware is why I rate this 4 stars. Otherwise, it is a nice piece, and well worth the price.
