The fragrance can be released by crushing the leaves between your fingers. Keep in mind that the scented geraniums like many herbs prefer to grow on the dry side. Scented geraniums are great used in containers and patio pots Pelargoniums grow up 10 inches tall with a somewhat sprawling habit. I treat scented geraniums as annuals here in my zone 6 garden. They are easy to pot up and bring indoors for the winter at the end of the growing season. You will receive a fully rooted plant in a 4 inch nursery container.
