Anthurium 'Dorayaki' is a rare and highly sought-after houseplant, prized for its thick, round, and intensely textured foliage. Its near-perfect appearance, with broad, veined leaves, makes it an elegant collector's item that brings a sophisticated and modern touch to bright interiors.

Origin: Horticultural hybrid of the genus Anthurium , derived from species native to the tropical forests of Central and South America, where they grow in hot and humid environments.

Growth: Slow to moderate growth. It forms a compact rosette of large, rounded, thick, slightly puckered, deep green leaves with prominent veins. The foliage has a firm, almost leathery texture, giving it a very structured appearance.

Flowers: Inconspicuous flowering indoors. It can produce pale green to white spathes with a central spadix, but the plant's main appeal remains its exceptional foliage.

Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Good light promotes balanced growth and well-formed foliage. Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.

Watering: Water moderately, allowing the soil to dry slightly between waterings. It prefers consistent moisture without overwatering. Reduce watering frequency slightly when growth slows.

Substrate: Use a well-draining potting mix for tropical plants. A mixture enriched with perlite or coconut fiber ensures good root aeration and limits stagnant moisture.

Toxicity: Toxic if ingested by humans and animals.

Rollercoaster of a ride
Format: Kindle
I have to admit, sports romance is one of my two favorite tropes; the other being celebrity romance. I don't think Clare Lydon could write a bad book if she tried. The Princess Match is a rollercoaster of a ride. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Excellent read
Format: Kindle
A lot of pulling of the heartstrings and excitement of sport and love. Positive role models. Strong characters who fight for others and themselves. Great entertainment.

Superb debut!
Format: Kindle
Wow! I loved this book so much! I've been a pro tennis fan since I was a little kid, so I put this book on my TBR the moment I saw it. However, had I known about the supernatural soulmate/soulmark element (first time I've ever heard of that trope) I would have moved it to the top of the pile IMMEDIATELY. Now I can't wait to read more, both in that trope and from this author. A great debut, and I can't wait to read future books from this writer!

magical realism + sports romance
Format: Paperback
3.75★ sapphic challengers with some ashley poston-esque magical realism! this was a fun twist on the soulmate concept, making them real possibilities for the lucky few born with the name of their marking their wrist. for luca, it's everything she's dreamed of. for juliette, it would only get in the way of her tennis dreams. luca and juliette face off as tennis rivals who also happen to be soulmates. juliette deals w the pressure of being 3rd in a whole family of tennis aficionados while luca deals w her legendary plays as merely "luck". if you really like tennis or the sports aspect of sports romance, this definitely gets into the thick of it. sometimes it was confusing for me as someone who doesn't really know tennis well, but generally, i enjoyed it. The romance was really cute, I did find Juliette a little bit bratty in the beginning (probably deliberate) but there's definitely growth with their relationship. Overall, it was an enjoyable sports romance with a little ✨ an honest arc review ♡

Decent fluffy beach read
Format: Paperback
As a lifelong tennis fan and a queer woman, I was excited to find this book. However, the writing and characterization were not the best and I found the language used to describe the sex scenes pretty distasteful (like something you'd find in a hetero romance novel, I imagine). Nevertheless, I finished the book and it was still a decent fluffy beach read.
