Aeonium 'Mardi Gras' is a striking variegated succulent hybridised by Renee O’Connell from California, making it a popular choice for collectors. This unique plant is a cross between Aeonium ‘Velour’ and an unnamed hybrid, resulting in rosettes of dazzling colours that change with the seasons. The leaves exhibit a combination of lemon yellow, emerald green, and deep burgundy, with pink and orange hues intensifying during the summer dormancy period. The plant’s colours become more vibrant when exposed to bright light and water stress, a bonus for those who might forget to water regularly.

Best grown in a pot, Aeonium 'Mardi Gras' is ideal for Australian conditions, although it is not frost-hardy. It thrives in morning sun with afternoon shade, especially in hotter climates. The rosettes can reach up to 15 cm across, and the entire plant may grow up to 50 cm tall, forming a small, tree-like structure as it branches out.

Propagation is straightforward, as the plant produces offsets readily in early spring. However, it’s important to note that leaf propagation is ineffective, and seeds may not carry the variegated traits. While generally low-maintenance, it's prone to pests like mealybugs and aphids, particularly in pots, so regular checks are advised. Aeonium 'Mardi Gras' adds vibrant colour and unique texture to any garden or collection, with its dynamic seasonal display.

Aeonium Mardi Gras plants for sale shown in 125mm pot. You will receive same or similar plants as those shown in images. Colours will vary depending on time of year and growing conditions.

My dogs finally chewed pieces off of these bones but it took forever for them to do it and they didn’t chew very much off! These are great and I will buy more!

Don’t buy
Size: 5 in
I bought one at a store for my Rottweiler puppy, about 2 months ago, I bought one from here n about 5 minutes she had chewed the end off, they did send me another, no charge, well I received the other bone yesterday, she chewed a big split in it. Won’t buy anymore, I’m out the money, which isn’t much. Made in China also, no more. Going back to Kong toys, they do last with aggressive chewers. Don’t know why but the one I bought at the store is holding up real good.

Eh...
Size: 5 in
I had high hopes for these cause we have other spot brand toys that have last a long time. Unfortunately these just don't hold up to the test! My dogs had them broken in about 5 - 10 mins. They did smell good tho and my dogs went crazy over them before I ever got them out of the bag. Lol.

Smells too strong
Size: 5 in
My dog hates the way this thing smells. She tries to play with it, but the scent is too strong for her nose. I know it's the scent because she usually sniffs it two or three times in between trying to grab it with her mouth. She treats it like an explosive in her mouth and quickly moves away after spitting it out. She used to have a bone that looked similar to this (same material) that was unscented and she gnawed the hell out of it. My sister's pitbull spent the night and chewed that toy into bits, leaving my Yorkie mourning the loss of her once treasured bone. Please make an UNSCENTED version of this toy!!!!
