Add refined elegance to your home, patio or garden with Picotee Hippeastrum, a striking flowering bulb known for its clean white blooms delicately edged with fine red margins. With its crisp contrast and graceful trumpet-shaped flowers, Picotee creates a sophisticated seasonal display in pots, indoor displays, protected garden beds and cut flower arrangements.

Commonly searched for as Amaryllis, these flowering bulbs are botanically Hippeastrums. Hippeastrum ‘Picotee’ is loved for its timeless colour combination, producing white petals with a narrow red edge that gives each bloom a polished, elegant finish.

Growing to approximately 50–70cm tall, Picotee produces strong upright flower stems, with multiple blooms possible per stem depending on bulb size and growing conditions. Its refined appearance makes it ideal for feature pots, bright indoor spaces, patio displays, gifting and formal garden planting.

Supplied as a dormant bulb, Picotee can be grown in pots or garden beds with good drainage. Plant from July to October in full sun to partial shade, leaving the neck of the bulb slightly exposed above the soil surface.

Planting & Care

Plant Picotee Hippeastrum bulbs from July to October in a position with full sun to partial shade. In warmer climates, morning sun with afternoon shade can help protect the flowers and foliage from harsh heat.

Choose a light, free-draining soil. If planting in the garden, loosen the soil to around 20cm deep and improve drainage if needed. Hippeastrums dislike sitting in wet, heavy soil, especially while dormant.

Plant with the fat end and roots facing down, leaving the neck of the bulb slightly exposed above the soil surface. Do not bury the bulb completely. In pots, the top third of the bulb may remain above the potting mix.

If growing in pots, use a quality free-draining potting mix and make sure the pot has good drainage holes. Avoid oversized pots that hold too much moisture around the bulb.

Water lightly after planting, then increase watering once active growth appears. Allow the soil or potting mix to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid overwatering, especially while the bulb is dormant or just beginning to shoot.

Feed during active growth with a balanced bulb fertiliser or pelletised chicken manure to support strong stems, healthy foliage and future flowering.

Protect from frost, especially in colder regions or when growing in pots. In frost-prone areas, Picotee is best grown in pots so it can be moved under cover when needed.

After flowering, remove the spent flower stem but leave the foliage to continue growing. The leaves help the bulb store energy for the next flowering cycle. Reduce watering as the plant naturally moves towards dormancy.

Flowering Time

Flowering time can vary depending on climate and growing conditions.

General flowering: Approximately 6–10 weeks after planting

Mounting system doesn’t align on one of three shelves.
Color: Walnut, Size: 3 Pack
Nice shelves. Install was super easy except on one of the three shelves. The main mounting shelf holes were off so the shelf will not slip onto horizontal mounting poles unless I modify the shelf. So a 20 minute job becomes a two hour job. The mounting system does appear very sturdy just not aligned.

Worth it, just pay attention better to instructions where holes for glass parts go!
This was pretty awesome, was VERY EASY to put together, idk how anybody else could have gotten it wrong I always pay attention to the holes n what direction they gotta face, so everything fit where it needed to at the end of making it…literally only have one complaint that the anchors that this came with were really crappy for dry wall only anyways, had to buy extra sturdy ones that would catch the wall, but other then that this was very nice…it pry be better also if it was in a stud as this is a lil heavy duty plus everything that gets added onto it for decor or whatever, the spot I needed it wasn’t a stud evenly where I wanted it so need to update the anchors for better ones..

Works
It works, put together easy too. And my only complaint is there's no way of securing your glass shelves. They just rest on plastic tabs.
