Introducing the captivating Crassula undulatifolia 'Ripple Jade', a unique and visually appealing succulent that offers a delightful twist on the classic Jade Plant! This cultivar is prized for its distinctive, wavy or undulating leaves that give it a dynamic and textured appearance, reminiscent of gentle ripples. Its easy care and attractive form make it a wonderful addition to any succulent collection or indoor garden.

Characteristics:

  • Wavy or Undulating Leaves: The most striking feature of 'Ripple Jade' is its fleshy, oval to oblong leaves with beautifully curled or wavy margins. This rippled effect creates a sense of movement and texture that sets it apart from the standard flat-leaved Jade Plant.
  • Silvery-Blue to Grey-Green Coloration: The leaves typically exhibit a lovely silvery-blue to grey-green hue, often with a subtle powdery coating (farina) that adds to their soft appearance. The edges may sometimes take on a reddish or purplish tinge, especially when exposed to cooler temperatures or bright light.
  • Compact and Bushy Growth: 'Ripple Jade' tends to grow in a compact and bushy manner, forming a dense arrangement of its attractive leaves. It can develop into a small, shrub-like succulent over time.
  • Relatively Small Size: This cultivar typically remains smaller than the traditional Jade Plant, making it well-suited for smaller spaces, windowsills, and mixed succulent arrangements.
  • Occasional Star-Shaped Flowers: Mature plants may occasionally produce clusters of small, star-shaped, white or pale pink flowers, usually in late winter or early spring.
  • Easy Care: Like other Crassulas, 'Ripple Jade' is generally considered an easy-to-care-for succulent, making it a great choice for beginners.
  • Drought Tolerant: It is adapted to arid conditions and is drought-tolerant once established.

Care Tips for Your Crassula undulatifolia 'Ripple Jade':

To keep your 'Ripple Jade' healthy and showcasing its beautiful wavy foliage, follow these care guidelines:

  • Light: Provide bright, indirect sunlight for at least 4-6 hours per day. A south or west-facing window with some light filtering is ideal. Insufficient light can cause the leaves to lose their compact form and vibrant color, potentially stretching out (etiolation). While it can tolerate some direct morning sun, avoid intense midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.
  • Watering: Water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry to the touch. Allow the soil to dry out fully between waterings to prevent root rot. Overwatering is a common issue with succulents, so err on the side of underwatering. Reduce watering significantly during the dormant winter months.
  • Soil: Use a well-draining succulent or cactus potting mix. This type of soil allows for proper aeration and prevents water retention around the roots. You can amend regular potting soil with perlite, pumice, or coarse sand to improve drainage.
  • Potting: Choose a pot with drainage holes to allow excess water to escape. Repot only when the plant has outgrown its current container, typically every 1-2 years, preferably in the spring or early summer.

The first three photos serves a display purpose only. The succulent plant housed in the red pot comes in a 130mm diameter container. While the image provides a representative depiction of what you will receive, but may vary slightly because no two succulents are the same.

A Favorite!
Format: Board book
Having loved Richard Scarry books as a child in the 70's, I was thrilled when he regained popularity in the 90's when we were raising our children. Now I get to share this beloved classic with my granddaughter. She LOVES her Richard Scarry books and this one is wonderful. Every page has so many beautifully illustrated details so there are always new things to look at and discover. She is 18 months old and the Richard Scarry books have been instrumental in helping her vocabulary, now over 200 words. Highly recommend that you add this awesome book to your baby's library and read, read, read to your baby every chance you get!

A great way to start makes adding more a breeze.
Format: Board book
As soon as words you want to teach gain clarity, sentences will follow faster. The little “sponge”takes communication seriously. Add a motion to the word and it will be remembered longer, and used in 3-word sentences, etc. the first 100 words will double then triple surprisingly fast.
