Senecio Scaposus goes by the common name “Woolly Senecio.” A native of South Africa, this succulent is noted for finger-shaped long erect leaves bearing a woolly cover. Belonging to the Asteraceae family, the height of this lovely plant is about 30 cm with a short stem or, at times, no stem at all. Woolly Senecio is a summer-dormant plant requiring full sun exposure for abundant growth.

Growth Rate

Woolly Senecio has a slow growth rate but grows easily.

Flowering

During the blooming season, which is springtime, orange-colored starry-shaped flowers adorn the top of the stalks. About three to five in number, the daisy-like flowers are a show stopper.

Watering and Feeding

This hardy succulent loves water, but care should be taken not to overwater. In winters especially, minimal watering is required. Applying fertilizers once or twice a year is advised for the nourishment of the plant.

Soil

Senecio scaposus requires gritty and sandy soil that drains off quickly. The soil should be allowed to dry and drench in between watering. Make sure that the ideal soil should contain coarse sand and cactus potting soil.

Hardiness

Senecio scaposus is hardy in zones 9b to 11b, with a frost tolerance of -5° C (23° F). It, however, cannot tolerate heavy frost.

Light

This succulent plant loves warm temperatures and cannot bear the intense cold. It requires full sun for growth.

Propagation

This variety of Senecio can be propagated directly from seeds or cuttings.

Woolly Senecio is a good option for groundcover in your succulent garden. When it flowers, the entire look-and-feel can change. Add it to your outdoors, or send it out as a gift to your loved ones!

Works Exceptionally well without feeling like you just applied Super Glue to your Body.
Size: 8 Ounce (Pack of 1), Style: Cool Down Lotion
I would provide a picture of the bottle but TSA took mine. This is some of the best post sunburn lotion I have ever used. I just finished writing a review of a sunblock lotion that did a great job, what I did not mention was the only sunburn I got was on my lower back where I didn't apply that lotion. It was a pretty uncomfortable burn, especially when I tried to sleep in the forward berth of a sailboat, or when I tried to wear swimming trunks with an elastic type waist, thankfully I had a couple of sets of board shorts that alleviated that irritation. But back on point. What I like the most about this lotion is how it applies. Usually, in the past, I did not like using aloe lotions because I felt like it was like glue when it dried on my skin and I felt like it made my skin feel tight. This stuff applies extremely well and I'm not exaggerating one bit when I say the relief is IMMEDIATE. As soon as I applied it to my sunburn, I felt immediate relief! It also doesn't feel like you just spread a bunch of super glue on your burn when it dries. It absorbs into your skin, cools your "hot spot" and doesn't leave a residue to get onto your clothing, or onto the mattress in my berth on the sailboat. Win and win. I can't recommend this product enough. The only negative experience was when TSA snagged my bottle going through security in Miami because I forgot to put it in my checked bag. But that was just the good ol' TSA doing their job in the amazing way they always do. (sarcasm dripping sounds) It works so well that I bought a replacement. So I would recommend purchasing the 3 oz tube if you plan on traveling with it. This is an excellent product, I'm not sure how long it lasts, because I forgot my sunburn was nothing me, or it enabled me to fall back asleep after applying. It does have that coconutty smell, but it's not like I just spent 3 hours in a hot tub filled with coconut oil. Hmmm... Idea forming... Anyway, purchase with confidence, this Texan who got a sunburn on his lower back and treated it with Sun Bum approves this message.

Go-To for Reef-Safe & Light-Weight Sunscreen
Style: SPF 50 Roll On, Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Favorite sunblock to travel with. Appreciate the simplicity of it, and the fact that it rolls on and rubs in smooth. Of course the iconic scent is also a plus.

Great choice
Style: SPF 50 Roll On, Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
After I suffered a second-degree burn from steam, I was told by my doctor that I would have to keep my new fresh skin sun-blocked for up to a year to avoid any scarring or hyper pigmentation. This has been a great selection as it is a roll-on, Which helps a lot with preventing messes that can happen with traditional sunblock bottles. I also like that it is easy to travel with, and the fact that it is zinc based.

My favorite new mineral sunscreen!
Style: SPF 50 Roll On, Size: 3 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
This is my favorite new mineral sunscreen! I've been searching for years for a product that is easy to apply, not messy, and doesn't show up too white. This roll-on is the perfect solution. I keep it near the front door and quickly roll the sunscreen on my hands, arms, and chest before leaving the house. The sunscreen applies so quickly and uniformly-- there are no bare spots or messy globs to rub in. Also, the roll-on keeps the sunscreen from oozing out of the tube and getting all over everything. Finally, the roll-on method also eliminates the frustration of having half-filled tubes and pumps where you can't even access the sunscreen when the tube gets low. Here's hoping this doesn't happen with the roll-on. Thank you Sun Bum for creating this wonderful product. I also love the reasonable price.
