The Half Moon Siamese Fighter, a striking form of the Betta splendens species, is renowned for its dramatic tail spread and elegant, flowing fins. This variety is defined by its spectacular 180-degree caudal fin, which forms a perfect semicircle—resembling a half moon—when fully flared. Available in an array of vibrant colours and patterns, the Half Moon Siamese Fighter is a true showpiece fish. Native to Southeast Asia, particularly Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam, this fighter is admired for its bold personality and captivating beauty, making it a popular choice among aquarists seeking a stunning solitary display fish.

Origin: Half Moon Siamese Fighters originate from Southeast Asia, especially Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

Temperature: The ideal temperature range for Half Moon Siamese Fighters is between 24°C to 30°C (75°F to 86°F).

Water Quality: They thrive in slightly acidic to neutral water conditions with a pH of 6.5 to 7.5 and soft to moderately hard water.

Aquarium Size: A minimum tank size of 20 liters is recommended for a single Half Moon Siamese Fighter. These fish should be kept alone due to their territorial nature, especially toward other male bettas. Provide gentle filtration, resting spots, plants, and low-flow areas to mimic their natural environment.

Feeding: Half Moon Siamese Fighters are carnivores and should be fed a protein-rich diet consisting of high-quality betta pellets or flakes. Supplement with live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, or daphnia to support health, colour, and fin development.

Lifespan: With proper care, Half Moon Siamese Fighters typically live for about 3 to 5 years in captivity.

Behavior and Personality: These fighters are known for their expressive, inquisitive nature. They interact actively with their surroundings and respond to their keepers. While territorial toward other male bettas, they remain captivating solo display fish. Their flowing fins, vivid colouration, and flaring displays make them one of the most striking aquarium species available.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.
