Product Description:
The definition of “winterizer” is important. It literally translates to “the last application of the year,” and for cool season lawns, there is nothing better than our best-selling crafted lawn fertilizer, 24-0-6 Flagship!
The idea behind a winterizer is you apply a blast of heavy nitrogen late in the season just before the ground freezes. The key is to get down the winterizer after the lawn has stopped growing but before the ground is frozen. This app is for next season.
The Air8 in this pack is for penetrating into the soil, opening up space for air and water to permeate. We then add in additional humic acid (Humic12) to fill some of that space with carbon which is great for the soil.
- 24-0-6 Flagship: This granular fert is explicitly formulated for DIYers. It is your go-to fertilizer for all grass types, designed to get the lawn thicker and greener.
- 0-0-1 Humic12: This liquid bio-stimulant is great for root growth, chlorophyll content, nutrient uptake, soil structure, water retention, and plant quality.
- 0-0-5 AIR-8: This liquid aeration with humic and fulvic is designed to create space in the soil, increase water penetration, and encourage deeper rooting to drive more oxygen into the topsoil profile.
The three of these products work together to prep your turf for take-off in the spring! By bundling the products together, we are able to pass along significant savings over purchasing separately.
Application Information:
First off: if you are still mowing your lawn at least every 10-12 days or so, then you can utilize this pack. If you are NOT mowing anymore and your lawn has gone dormant, then it’s too late for you to use this pack this season.
When your pack arrives, break out the Air8 and Humic12 and apply 6oz/1,000 sq ft of each using the hose end sprayer that came in your pack, (YES you can mix them together). Water it in.

Now things will start to slow down here in the next several weeks depending on how far north you live, but just keep mowing as needed.
Then when you get to that point where you feel like the lawn has completely stopped growing and you will not have to mow anymore, that is when you apply the 24-0-6 Flagship lawn fertilizer. There will be a time when you look at the lawn and decide to give it one final trim, just to clean off the tips and get up any last falling leaves. Right before that big predicted snowstorm… That’s when you throw down! (or do your best to get close and hope for the best!)
The idea is that this final Flagship application is not for the lawn to use now.
Instead, it will be utilized next spring as the snow melts and waters it in for you. This is the best way to get an early jump in the spring coming out of winter, greener than everyone else, fast!
