Monstera Deliciosa Mint Variegated

A rare cultivar of Monstera deliciosa — native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America — distinguished from other variegated Monstera forms by a soft, cool-toned mint-green to creamy white variegation that reads as marbled and diffuse rather than the bold white sectors of the albo form or the speckled cream of Thai Constellation. The variegation is not commercially tissue-cultured at scale, making it significantly rarer in the market than other variegated deliciosa forms. As the plant matures it develops the characteristic fenestrations and splits of the species on a climbing support.

  • Light: Bright indirect light is essential — maintains variegation intensity and supports vigorous growth. Avoid direct sun which scorches the variegated sectors. Insufficient light causes variegation to fade and growth to slow.

  • Soil: Chunky, well-draining aroid mix of orchid bark, perlite, and coco coir; excellent drainage essential. Never waterlogged.

  • Temperature/Humidity: Warm temperatures between 65-85°F; humidity of 60-70% supports the best growth and cleanest leaf emergence. Sensitive to temperatures below 60°F.

  • Watering: Allow the top 1-2" of medium to dry between waterings; water thoroughly and drain completely. Never waterlog — variegated sectors are particularly sensitive to root stress.

  • Fertilizer: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4 weeks during active growth; consistent feeding supports vigor across the reduced-chlorophyll sectors. Reduce in winter.

Engaging story with beautiful art
Of all the Manga Classics artists, SunNeko Lee is by far my favorite. Her work perfectly accompanies Hawthorne's words, which have been expertly adapted to Manga by Crystal Chan. As an added bonus, there are a couple well timed moments of levity/humor in the artwork to go along with this otherwise somber story. I finished this book in three days because I couldn't put it down - an adaptation worth viewing for manga and novel enthusiasts alike.

Awesome introduction of classics to elementary children
We borrowed a bunch of Manga Classics from the library and The Scarlet Letter and Les Mis were my Grade 2 daughter's favorites. I read the books with them to discuss the faith and character issues. Included in the back are the artist and the writer's explanation on how they break down the novel into a manga format and translated the original ideas into drawings. What I love from these Manga Classics is that they didn't rewrite the content but pulled actual passages from the original text and added minor changes to make the storyline flow.
