A Living Lavender “Tree” That Smells As Good As It Looks

This Lavender Topiary is the easiest way to add instant charm—one plant, polished shape, and that unmistakable Provence-lavender fragrance every time you brush past it. The topiary form gives you a clean, sculpted look that feels finished right away, whether it’s sitting by the front door, anchoring a sunny kitchen window, or dressing up a patio table. It’s décor you can keep enjoying long after the season passes.

And it’s not just pretty. Provence lavender is loved for its classic aroma and summer-bloom power, sending up fragrant lavender-colored flower spikes when grown in full sun outdoors. If you want a plant that feels giftable, useful, and genuinely uplifting—this one checks all three boxes.

Indoor Décor Now, Patio Performer Later

One of the best parts of this seasonal topiary is its flexibility. Enjoy it indoors through the colder months in your brightest, sunniest spot, then move it outside when temperatures allow. On a sunny deck or patio, it settles into “true lavender mode”—stronger fragrance, sturdier growth, and the best chance at summer blooms.

The secret is light. Lavender wants real sun, not “bright-ish.” Indoors, put it right in the sunniest window you’ve got and rotate the pot so it grows evenly. Outdoors, aim for full sun and good airflow. Treat it like a sun plant with high standards, and it rewards you with the look, scent, and performance people hope for when they buy lavender.

Low-Maintenance Care That Starts With Smart Watering

Lavender topiaries are simple to maintain once you understand the watering rhythm. In a 6-inch pot, the goal is evenly moist but never soggy. Water thoroughly, then let the top inch of soil dry before watering again. That “soak and dry down” cycle keeps roots healthy and helps prevent the biggest lavender killer: prolonged wetness.

A well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage holes are non-negotiable. Indoors, you’ll usually water less often because growth slows in winter. Outdoors in summer sun, you may water more frequently—but still only after the soil has dried slightly. If you nail drainage and watering, lavender becomes refreshingly easy.

Pruning For A Crisp Shape And More Blooms

This topiary is already shaped for you—pruning is just how you keep it looking sharp. Light, frequent snips are better than heavy cutting. Think “haircut,” not “buzz cut.” Trim soft, green growth to maintain the silhouette and encourage branching, which helps the plant stay dense and full rather than open and leggy.

For flowering, lavender generally blooms on new growth under strong sun, so keeping it outdoors in full sun during the growing season gives you the best show. After bloom, a gentle shape-up helps keep it tidy and sets it up for the next flush. With minimal pruning and the right light, this plant stays clean, fragrant, and gift-worthy for the long run.

10/10 Great game changer for aggressive chewers
After a scary experience where our Doberman ingested part of a toy and needed emergency surgery, we had to get rid of all plush toys and small balls in our house. Replacing everything felt overwhelming. This ball has been fantastic. It’s truly built for aggressive chewers and holds up incredibly well. It’s perfect for fetch, strong enough for tug-of-war, and the bounce is excellent, which keeps our dog fully engaged during self-play when he’s entertaining himself. That unpredictable bounce makes it exciting without being unsafe. Most importantly, it gives us peace of mind. No shredding, no chunks coming off, no felt cover and constant worry about ingestion. Since having to replace all of his previous toys and balls, this one has stood out as the best by far. If you have a large, powerful dog—especially a Doberman—or a dog who destroys toys quickly, this is a must-have. Durable, safe, and genuinely fun. 10/10, highly recommend.

Finally, a sturdy oversized ball my boy can't destroy! And can pick up easily
This is just wonderful! My dog has destroyed all other balls! I think this is finally one he cannot destroy. And I love the holes so he can pick it up and throw it himself. LOL. And it BOUNCES, bringing him endless joy and skill in catching it. Cause you don't know which way it will bounce off the ground. Oversize was just right for him. Glad to have found this great sturdy ball.

Almost perfect...upraised logo should be left off
This toy is great for relentless chewers with strong jaws! It would be almost perfect if it didn't have a "K9" logo in raised rubber on it. That is the place that my aggressive chewer shepherd/bulldog mix focuses on and is able to get small chunks off. Without that logo, he would chew the ball more evenly, instead of fixating on that one spot. He loves this ball and has chewed on it for about an hour off & on each of the 11 days he has had it. Although it is very durable so far, the flaw is the upraised logo.

Perfect for High-Drive Dogs & Surprisingly Durable (six month review)
I use this ring ball for structured fetch and tug sessions with my high-drive German Shepherd mix (91 lbs. at 10 mon.), and it’s easily the best toy we’ve added to our routine. What makes it truly exceptional is how it allows my dog to engage in the full canine predatory sequence: • Chase: He locks in visually and bolts after the ring when I throw it. • Grab & Hold: He brings it back, pins it against my leg, and bites down firmly (the toy—not the leg!)—his way of acting out the natural catch-and-control behavior. • Unalive & Tug: We finish with a strong tug session, which satisfies his instinct to grip and shake—basically his version of “making the toy unalive.” • Settle & Chew: Afterward, he relaxes with a chew toy or eats—completing the full physical and mental cycle in a healthy, balanced way. Durability is outstanding—this toy stands up to intense tug sessions with no tearing or damage, even with a 91 lb powerhouse. My senior dog also joins in for double tug play, and it holds up beautifully to that too. I don’t leave this toy down for chewing—it’s not a chew toy. I use it specifically for fetch and tug, then put it away when we’re done. This keeps it exciting and extends its lifespan. My dog has other chew toys he can use freely throughout the day. This isn’t just another fetch toy—when thoughtful it provides a structured, instinct-satisfying experience that’s mentally enriching and physically engaging. If you have a high-drive or working breed, or a dog who thrives on interactive play, this ring ball is 100% worth it.

Unpredictable bounces
Size: Small, Size: Small
My 3-year old Cavapoo loves these little toys, although I haven’t given them to her all at once. Typically, she is able to chew a little hole in anything with a squeaker within hours. The first one I gave her, it took her more than a day to chew off a little ear, but she still love to play with it. The second one is completely intact after more than a week. What both of us like is that the shapes with tiny nubs make the toys bounce unpredictably. They are small and light-weight which makes them easy to throw in the house without doing any damage. I am careful to not throw them at the TV or delicate items. I’ll actually buy them again when she needs more toys. EDIT 3/19/2026: It’s 3.5 months since I first wrote about these toys. Tater is playing with all four critters. It’s a miracle that all of them are intact and squeaking! Even the one with an ear missing squeaks as long as I cover the little hole. I just added all of the Chiwawa toys to favorites so I can find them again—if or when these ever wear out.
