American Purple Top Heirloom Rutabaga Turnips are easy to grow with smooth, round, and sweet roots that take about 95-100 days to reach maturity.  One of the sweetest heirloom varieties grown in cool weather conditions.  Interior flesh turns orange when cooked.  Oven roasted with other root vegetables is a New England Favorite.

How to Grow Your Heirloom Rutabaga Turnips:

  • Suggested Planting Depth: ⅛ to ¼ inch. 
  • Suggested Planting Seasons:  Spring or Fall.
  • Suggested Final Plant Spacing: 3 inches apart.
  • Suggested Planting Configuration:  Single Row or Solid seeded Wide row block.
  • Thin aggressively to a spacing of 3 inches apart when young.
  • Maintain a weed-free seed bed in Full sun and with adequate moisture.
