The 5 lb. bag covers up to 665 sq. ft. for new lawns or up to 2,000 sq. ft. for overseeding existing lawns. Best applied in late spring or early summer when temperatures consistently range between 70°F and 90°F. ([ScottsMiracle-Gro][1])
Instructions for Use
For New Lawns
1. Prepare the Soil
Rake and loosen the top 2 inches of soil. Remove debris, dead grass, and weeds to improve seed-to-soil contact.
2. Apply the Seed
Spread evenly using a lawn spreader according to the label settings.
3. Lightly Rake
Gently rake the seed into the soil so it sits just beneath the surface.
4. Water Thoroughly
Water daily or as needed to keep the soil consistently moist until seedlings reach at least 2 inches tall.
For Overseeding Existing Lawns
1. Mow Existing Grass Low
Bag clippings and remove debris from the lawn.
2. Loosen the Soil Surface
Rake lightly to improve seed contact with soil.
3. Spread the Seed Evenly
Apply with a lawn spreader over thin or bare areas.
4. Water Regularly
Keep the soil moist during germination and early growth stages.
For best results, avoid heavy foot traffic during establishment and mow only after the grass reaches approximately 3 inches tall.
