  • Kalanchoe 'Polar Bear' is a soft, sculptural succulent with pale, silvery-green foliage and dense, rounded form. It belongs to the Crassulaceae family and is believed to be a hybrid developed for ornamental use, likely tracing its roots back to native Kalanchoe species from Madagascar. This plant grows slowly into a low, mounding shape, with broad, fuzzy leaves that catch the light in a way that gives them a frosted or snowy appearance — a fitting image for its name. Indoors or out, it brings a clean, calming presence to succulent collections and small landscapes.

The leaves are thick, oval, and slightly cupped, covered in a soft layer of tiny hairs that create a velvety texture. When grown in bright, indirect light, the color stays a true silvery-green, but in strong direct sun, the edges may blush lightly pink. Mature plants typically reach about 12 to 18 inches tall and can spread up to 2 feet wide, forming a loose rosette pattern as they age. In the right conditions, Kalanchoe 'Polar Bear' may also send up clusters of small, pale flowers, but it is primarily grown for its foliage.

Compared to other succulents, Kalanchoe plants like Polar Bear often have thicker, more water-storing leaves with a soft, waxy or slightly fuzzy surface. This adaptation helps protect them from harsh sunlight and moisture loss. While some Kalanchoes produce plantlets along their leaf edges, Polar Bear follows a more traditional, compact growth form without this trait.

Compared to brighter, more colorful Kalanchoe varieties like Kalanchoe blossfeldiana, Polar Bear focuses on form and subtle color rather than flashy blooms. Its slow, compact growth and soft coloration make it a good choice for minimalist designs, rock gardens, or windowsill arrangements. Its velvety texture gives it a soft, almost plush appearance, adding a lovely touch of nature to any living space.

  • Prefers bright, indirect light indoors or partial sun outdoors. Strong direct sunlight can cause the leaves to develop a slight pink edge but should be limited to avoid scorching.

Water deeply when the soil is completely dry, then let all excess water drain away. Overwatering is the most common problem and should be avoided at all times.

Adapts well to low indoor humidity, typical of most homes. High humidity is not needed and overly damp air can increase the risk of rot.

Grows best between 60–80°F. Protect the plant from frost and cold drafts, as it is not cold hardy.

Needs a well-draining, sandy or gritty soil mix like a cactus or succulent blend. Good drainage is essential to prevent root rot.

Feed lightly during the spring and summer with a balanced, diluted fertilizer once a month. Fertilizing is usually unnecessary during the fall and winter months.

Kalanchoe 'Polar Bear' is toxic if ingested by pets and humans. Keep it out of reach of animals and small children.

The Perfect Digital Watch with all the Bells & Whistles!
Color: Black/Gray
I always buy this kind of watch, and so does my adult daughter. It has a timer, 3 alarm settings, push button light, easy to set, and other features that I don't use, like, track timers, Occasion settings, Beeps & Chimes, On or Off. I use it for timing my Laundry, taking pills, timing things in the kitchen. I just can't live without it! My daughter used it for timing on her Breast Feeding Schedule, so no matter what room she was in, or what she was doing, she would always hear that alarm!

Reliable and Affordable Timekeeping for an Active Lifestyle
Color: Black/Gray
I recently purchased the Timex Unisex Ironman Classic 30 34mm Watch, and it has exceeded my expectations in terms of functionality, durability, and style. First and foremost, the watch's design is sleek and unisex, making it suitable for a variety of wrist sizes and both casual and sporty occasions. The 34mm face strikes a perfect balance, providing clear visibility of the time without feeling bulky on the wrist. One of the standout features of this timepiece is its reliability. The Ironman Classic 30 lives up to its name with a water resistance of up to 100 meters, making it suitable for swimming and other water-based activities. The durable resin strap and casing can withstand the wear and tear of an active lifestyle, ensuring longevity. The watch's functionality is where it truly shines. The digital display is easy to read, and the Indiglo backlight is a game-changer in low-light conditions. The 30-lap memory is a handy feature for tracking workouts or laps in the pool, while the countdown timer and alarm add practicality for daily use. Setting and adjusting the time and date are straightforward, thanks to the user-friendly interface. The watch also offers a dual time zone feature, making it a great companion for travelers. Battery life is impressive, providing long-lasting performance without the need for frequent replacements. This is a crucial aspect for those who rely on their timepiece during outdoor adventures or extended periods away from a power source. In terms of value for money, the Timex Ironman Classic 30 delivers outstanding features at an affordable price point. Whether you're an athlete, fitness enthusiast, or someone who simply appreciates a reliable timepiece, this watch is a solid investment. In conclusion, the Timex Unisex Ironman Classic 30 34mm Watch combines style, durability, and functionality seamlessly. It has become my go-to watch for both daily wear and active pursuits. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a reliable and affordable timekeeping companion.

The Best for Athletics
Color: Black/Gray
This is a sleek, light wristwatch that will not weigh you down with its bulk. Forget the gigantic profile of a "survivalist" wristwatch. This unisex model is svelte and slim, not adding much to the wake you generate while swimming, or the swing of your arms while running, or the wind as it passes around your wrists and hands while you are speeding by on your racing bike. This is only 34mm across, by 35mm tall, by 11.5mm thick. The wristband is 13mm at its median working width. Timex styling cannot be beat, and neither is the resin-rubber-like material. I don't know about you, but the price is something I take a good look at. I want a watch that is reasonably priced and high-quality. I don't want to spend $200 to $1000 on a watch and worrying about being careful with it. If it gets smashed, it's only $30 to $50, not a big loss, and the quality is way better than what they were making in the 1980's. These watches are made for athletics and the real world.

Great watch, flimsy band
Color: Gray/Lilac
I bought this watch to replace a similar model because the band broke. I see this is a recurrent problem in many other reviews. However, I liked the watch enough to buy it again anyway. I found the new model easy to set, being fairly intuitive. So far it keeps perfect time. I use this watch mainly as a travel watch, and loved the dual time zone function. I am pleased that the newer model now has the ability to set 3 times zones instead of 2, which is an added bonus. The only con I see at this point is the flimsy strap. Unfortunately, the strap on this model is even thinner than on the previous one, and I wonder how long it will last. Also I wonder about the battery length. I think these watches may have been sitting around a long time. The setting showed 2012. I am afraid much of the battery life of the original battery may have already been used up and the battery may need replacing early. Only time will tell. The watch fits my small wrist fine and it is a little more attractive than the old model. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the band problem.
