Philodendron ‘Fat Boy’ martianum is a quirky easy care indoor plant that attracts attention due to its wide leaf petioles and compact growth habit.

Light Requirements: Bright Indirect Light is ideal. Place near an east-facing window in the home or anywhere your martianum can ‘see’ lots of blue sky through a window. 

Moisture & Soil Requirements: This semi succulent plant hates sitting in wet soil and is particularly adept at storing moisture in its thick petioles. Allow soil to almost dry out entirely between waterings but water deeply then drain completely and adjust your frequency according to the conditions & season. Warmer, brighter, drafter conditions require more frequent waterings than cool, dark, still conditions.

Grows well in bark or sphagnum. Can handle short dry spells. 

Growth & Nutrients: Epiphytic (grows on trees), non-vining Philodendron so Fat Boy forms a clump. Philodendron martianum has a small root system and can handle small pots. Suits apartments or homes of any size. Feed with a general-purpose fertiliser for containers from the start of spring each year to early autumn when growth slows down.

Temperature, Humidity & Ambient requirements: Prefers warm, humid environments inside.
