Haworthia Emelyae Var. Major goes by the common name “Haworthia Emelyae”. This succulent forms rosettes. The plant is native to South Africa and a member of the family of Asphodelaceae. It is dormant in the summertime and can grow up to a height of 3.2 inches.

Growth Rate

Haworthia Emelyae Var. Major is a slow-growing plant. Due to this, they are often grown in small clusters.

Flowering

Even though the leaves show wide variations, the flowers of Haworthia Emelyae are white. They start to bloom in the summer.

Watering and Feeding

The succulent needs a typical watering routine. Do not overwater the plant, and only water it again when the soil has dried out. Increase the watering frequency in winter. Haworthia Emelyae does not require added fertilizer.

Soil

The soil needs to be well drained since the succulent does not react well to wet soil. Put in lots of perlite and vermiculite for good drainage.

Hardiness

The succulent grows best in the summer season. When it comes to its frost tolerance, the temperatures vary from -1.1° C (30° F) to 10° C (50° F). Additionally, its hardiness zone is 10a to 11b.

Light

Haworthia Emelyae requires partial sunlight and has difficulty blooming without ample sun. For its proper growth, place the plant about 3 feet away from your window.

Propagation

Propagation can be done by separating the offsets from the parent, and ensuring that the offset has some roots. Wait 24 hours for the offset to completely dry and then place it in a small container for growth.

Haworthia Emelyae Var. Major is a welcoming treat for its growers. Watch them grow into stunning and long-lasting plants.

Graphic Illustration and Textual Accompaniment Bring the Civil War into Close Focus
Format: Hardcover
Brilliant graphic and textual overview of an incredibly massive and complex story. By zeroing in on specific moments and symbols, the whole becomes approachable and deeply affecting. Highly recommended for students (middle school through college) and anyone else motivated to gain a better understanding of one of our nation's darkest times.

A beautiful and affecting book
Format: Hardcover
A beautiful and affecting book. The civil war is, at least to me, deeply familiar, but this book focuses on the personal, and conveys with a painful immediacy the ways that the horror of this conflict infiltrated and transformed the day-to-day existence of our not-so-distant ancestors. I was struck as I have never been before by the degree to which the appalling, unprecedented violence of the conflict was "just around the corner" for familiar and modern-seeming Americans.

... our traditional textbook and primary sources) and my students LOVE it. Although it's not perfect
Format: Hardcover
I have started using this in my US history survey class (along with our traditional textbook and primary sources) and my students LOVE it. Although it's not perfect, it's a great complement to other sources and offers a terrific way to talk about alternate ways to interpret history. In addition, my 11 and 14 year old sons have also read it and enjoyed it, so it's accessible for a broad range of ages. And, as my students note in their final papers, it's fun to read, and how often do gen ed students say that at the end of the semester?

Carry on with the great writing Rachel Lacey while I look for my next bodyguard book
Format: Kindle
I'm on a bodyguard reading kick right now, only wlw of course. I read this one for the first time about a year ago and somehow, I didn't leave a review. ( I'm good at hopping from one book to another and forgetting to write one. oopsy) I loved the bodyguard part but as stories go I always hate someone's parent dying. ( too much like real life) I know it's necessary to show why Natalie is so effed up. Rachel wrote a great ending to this story and that is always a plus in my eyes.
