Our dahlia seeds have about a 75% germination rate and take an average of 4 weeks to germinate. This is because we do not have any open centered dahlias in our seed harvesting

Hand harvested in Stanwood, WA from open pollinated, fully double dahlias. At least 150 seeds per packet (we measure by a 1 1/2 tsp which generously over measures). This is equivalent to 6 regular seed packs.
Our dahlia seeds have about a 75% germination rate and take an average of 4 weeks to germinate. This is because we do not have any open centered dahlias in our seed harvesting areas. We have a high rate of fully double dahlias from seed. Our seed mix usually gives us more than 50% fully double seedlings!
Planting instructions: Sow dahlia seed indoors 4 weeks before your last frost. Start in damp seed starting mix in a covered tray. Keep on a heat mat and check daily for germination. Once sprouted, transfer to cells and place under strong light. Do not transplant until all danger of frost has passed. Please allow at least 6 weeks for germination. Seeds from fully double dahlias take longer to germinate.
