Summary: With tall, sword-like leaves edged in golden yellow, this spectacular Sansevieria ‘Laurentii’ stands an impressive 80 cm tall in a P21 pot—perfect for adding dramatic vertical structure and air-purifying green to European interiors.
✨ Why You'll Love Sansevieria ‘Laurentii’ XL
- Bold, architectural foliage: deep green leaves framed by yellow margins—instantly impactful
- Large format: approx. 80 cm tall in a sturdy P21 container, suited to floors, corners, or large shelves
- Air-purifying superstar—improves indoor air quality in offices or living rooms
- Pet-safe and low-maintenance—perfect for busy households across Germany and the EU
🌞 Light & Placement
Thrives in bright, indirect to moderate light; tolerates low-light corners. Avoid intense direct afternoon sun to prevent leaf scorching. Ideal for minimalist German apartments or modern EU interiors.
💧 Water & Humidity
Allows soil to dry completely between waterings—typically every 2–4 weeks depending on conditions. Over‑watering is the main issue. Perfectly suited to average home humidity levels.
🪴 Soil & Potting
Use a well-draining succulent or cactus mix enriched with perlite or pumice. Repot only when root-bound—every 3–4 years—to maintain health and shape.
🐾 Toxicity & Safety
Considered non-toxic to cats and dogs. While generally safe, discourage chewing on leaves to avoid mild stomach upset.
🌱 Growth & Propagation
Slow-growing but long-lived; new shoots may emerge at the soil surface. Easily propagated by division of rhizomes during repotting—ideal for sharing with plant-loving friends.
📆 Seasonal & Special Care
Growth slows in winter—reduce watering accordingly. No fertiliser needed during dormancy. Rotate occasionally to keep foliage upright and evenly balanced.
🐛 Common Issues
- Soft or rotting base: from excessive watering—ensure full drying and proper drainage
- Brown leaf edges or margins: low humidity or inconsistent watering—adjust moisture
- Leaf leaning or dropping: check for uneven light exposure or compacted soil
🧬 Botanical Background
Sansevieria ‘Laurentii’ (now classified under genus Dracaena as Dracaena trifasciata 'Laurentii') is a resilient tropical plant native to West Africa. Its upright, golden-edged leaves bring sculptural beauty to contemporary European interiors.
