Taccas have large, beautiful foliage and prefer to be grown in low light with good air circulation. Keep the soil moist but not soggy. There needs to be a bit of dryness to the surface between waterings but never totally dried out. Make sure the potting mix is well-drained and aerated. They can be grown successfully indoors and need conditions similar to a Phalaenopsis orchid or a Spathophyllum (Peace lily). Originating in Southeast Asia, White Bat Flower is one of the most tropical and exotic plants we grow.

Amazing and inspiring
Format: Paperback
As a young transgender person this book fills me with a lot of hope for my future. I relate to his story so much. He gives me hope that one day I can medically transition even if it’ll be difficult. I would suggest this book to transgender people who are 14 and older. And if you read this one make sure to read the second one!

Really Wanted to Love This Book
Format: Paperback
I grew up in a time where there were very few LBGTQ books and I felt very much an anomaly. I heard great things about this book and wanted to read it. I found the book to be written super simply and not adding much to the conversation. I am glad it exists but it was super simplistic and it really doesn’t add much to the conversations around transitioning. It might be a great book for a kid just starting to figure out who they are. I left this book in a free library in a public space in hopes it gets read by someone who needs the message.
