Anubias barteri nana bonsai is a uniquely sculpted cultivar that has been selectively grown to produce a miniaturized, tree-like growth form reminiscent of a bonsai tree. The compact, structured appearance — with a visible trunk-like rhizome and a canopy of small, thick green leaves — makes it one of the most distinctive and conversation-worthy plants in the aquarium hobby.
Planting tip: Never bury the rhizome in substrate — Anubias barteri nana bonsai should always be attached to driftwood, rock, or other hardscape with the rhizome fully exposed. Use cotton thread or aquarium-safe adhesive to secure it, and the plant will anchor itself naturally over time.
Despite its unusual form, Anubias barteri nana bonsai is no more demanding than standard Anubias nana. It tolerates low lighting without CO₂ supplementation and prefers temperatures between 72 and 82°F and a pH of 6.0 to 7.5. The compact nana size makes it ideal for nano tanks and low-tech setups.
