Ficus Elastica Shivereana "Moonshine" Plant Care
Watering
The Ficus elastica shivereana "Moonshine" likes to be kept evenly moist, but not soaking wet. Water your plant thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Avoid overwatering or letting the plant sit in standing water, as this can lead to root rot.
Light
This plant prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. If the plant is not getting enough light, it may become leggy and lose its vibrant color.
Temperature
The Ficus elastica shivereana "Moonshine" prefers temperatures between 60-75°F (15-24°C). Avoid exposing the plant to cold drafts or extreme temperatures.
Soil Mix
Use a well-draining soil mix that retains some moisture but also allows excess water to drain away. You can use a mix of peat moss, perlite, and potting soil.
Humidity
The Ficus elastica shivereana "Moonshine" likes higher humidity levels, so consider placing a humidifier near the plant or misting it regularly.
Fertilizer
Fertilize your plant once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer. Avoid fertilizing during the winter months when the plant is not actively growing.
