Dracaena Colorama is the most vivid and striking color variant in the Dracaena marginata family. Its long, slender leaves grow in a fountain-like formation from a central stem, each one edged in a vivid, intense reddish-pink that deepens in bright light to an almost magenta tone. In brighter conditions the red becomes truly spectacular. It grows slowly, lives for years, and brings an upright, architectural quality to any room it occupies.

Good for beginners? Yes. Dracaena is one of the most forgiving houseplant genera. Colorama is adaptable, low-maintenance, and tolerates a range of light and watering conditions without drama.

Safe for cats and dogs? Dracaena is toxic to pets if ingested. Keep out of reach of cats and dogs, or explore our pet-safe plant collection.

Light needs: Medium to bright indirect light produces the most intense red and pink coloring. In lower light the red fades toward a duller pink-green. Avoid direct sun which can scorch the leaf tips.

Care at a glance: Allow soil to dry to the touch between waterings. Use filtered water where possible as Dracaenas are sensitive to fluoride. Feed monthly in spring and summer. Avoid cold drafts and temperatures below 60°F.

Ships fresh from one of our two greenhouse locations in a nursery pot. Covered by our 30-Day Plant Guarantee. Free shipping on orders $149+.

An epic naval history decades in the making
Format: Hardcover
Excellent ending to Dr. Rodger's three book series "A Naval History of Britain", with the same level of detail and interesting presentation of facts I have come to expect from reading other of his works over the years. For anyone interested in a comprehensive naval history of Britain (from which the US Navy inherited much of its tradition), I would highly recommend this series. In addition, "The Wooden World: An Anatomy of the Georgian Navy" is also quite a good read. My (incomplete, sadly) collection of Dr. Rodger's works will continue to hold a special place on my naval history shelf for easy reference in the future. I also hope Dr. Rodger's health has improved. The shipper unfortunately did not pack this book well, resulting in minor damage (mostly cosmetic - book is still entirely readable).

Answers Many Questions about Naval Developments
Format: Hardcover
The history offers a detailed and well organized account of the Royal Navy as it transitioned from sail to steam. Coverage included personalities, technology, tactics and strategy. The combination provided a complete appreciation of the dynamics at play, some unexpectedly. The details might be a bit much for a casual reader but offered plenty of avenues for research not available or compiled in one source. I look forward to the final volume, which should describe another watershed era.

Great Book with a different perspective
Format: Hardcover
This will be a short review of a very long book. I ordered the book expecting more of a history of the British Navy, but this is more of a history of Britain with respect to its navy. It is still excellent and authoritative, just different than I expected. I really appreciate a somewhat different perspective than I have found in some other books. For example, any discussion of Jackie Fisher I have read previously seemed to border on the hagiographic, whereas here he seems to get a very evenhanded appraisal. A great book, highly recommended.
