SPECTACULAR INDOOR HOUSE PLANT FOR TROPICAL DECOR

Pilea Peperomioides are bright green ornamental houseplants. Also known as the ‘Chinese money plant’, ‘pancake plant’, or UFO plant, this species is native to Southern China in the Yunnan province but has become a very popular houseplant in the United States in the last few years.

The Pancake plant features circular foliage that appears in the shape of large silver dollar coins. The coin shaped leaves shoot up on long slender stalks that are almost unseen amongst the bouquet of voluminous petals. It is primarily grown for its unique foliage but it does produce dainty white flowers in the spring. It is not common to see pilea flowering when grown indoors.

The Pilea grows vertically making it the perfect accent to a narrow space that receives a lot of bright indirect light. Potted pilea peperomiodes looked beautiful in any room of the house or on a back patio or porch. Add a touch of dark green decor to spruce up your interior decorating.

HOW TO CARE FOR PILEA PEPEROMIOIDES

Pilea Plants require a common houseplant environment. If you already have a spot dedicated to your indoor plants, provide bright indirect light, water your Pilea on a consistent schedule, apply fertilizer annually, and repot as needed — your Pilea Peperomioides plant will thrive for many years to come!

Pilea Light Requirements

The Pilea Peperomioides species does best in bright light sources. The Pilea can tolerate a spot that receives full sun for a few hours a day. The more direct sun this tropical houseplant receives, the quicker its soil will dry out. Too much direct light will burn the leaves, so make sure to rotate the pot frequently and choose a spot with protection from the harsh afternoon sun.

Pilea Soil Requirements

Like most tropical house plants, the Pilea Peperomioide soil should be well-draining and have proper amendments to aid the root system in retaining moisture. Check out our Organic Potting Mix for a specialized formula that will give your Pilea all the vitamins and minerals it needs. Ensure that the bottom of the pot has drainage holes. We recommend a terracotta pot to help with drainage and avoid root rot.

Pilea Peperomioides Watering

When figuring out your pilea care schedule, allow the top 1-2 inches of the soil to dry out between waterings. Adjust your watering schedule during spring and summer to ensure proper moisture in the hottest months of the year. The same concept can be applied in the winter months. Typically watering is reduced during the winter season as indoor houseplants are not actively growing.

How to Prune Pilea Peperomioides

Pruning a pilea can be quite simple. It is encouraged to pinch or carefully snip off any dried or yellowing leaves. The best time to prune pilea is in early spring. You can keep any pups that the mother plant produces! The baby Pilea plants are easy to propagate and give away to friends. Just place them in a glass of water and watch roots grow.

I wonderfully versatile athletically fitting summer polo

Don't really have any down sides on this polo. It's lightweight yet surprisingly wind resistant, even on cooler days im not losing all my body heat at the slightest breeze. The fit is very athletic, with just enough room in the chest and shoulders while hugging close to the midsection. This polo is quality both in looks, with the collar holding shape and appearance, the faux chest pocket ups the look of the shirt without being a clunky piece with a pocket that bunches up. Im thrilled with this polo and am buying more colors to have variety with this shirt. Wonderful wonderful value for the money if you're looking for a versatile close fitting shirt without hindering mobility

Great shirt with a couple of very insignificant flaws

Stylish, breathable, great fit, vibrant color, nice attention to detail with the colorway. Check out my photos for a look at the way the pocket colors and fabrics match that of the collar button, and the tiny perforations in the main fabric that allow you to stay cool in this shirt. There are a couple of spots where you can see flaws, but they're not significant enough to me to deduct a star. The flaws are the thread sticking out of the button, and how the collar has a bit of an indentation in it and isn't totally level smooth. It's hard to figure out how to iron the collar without creasing it in a bad location, so this is the way it looks after ironing with my best effort. All in all, as I've found with the Alex Vando brand, I enjoy their polo/golf shirts a lot - the fit, look, pretty much everything.

Comfortable summer wear. Runs a little big and long

This is a very comfortable polo. I can tell from the features that the shirt is pretty much designed for golf. - Very light weight like tees for runners. It is see through if not for the printed pattern. - Definitely breathable, perfect for dry weather region. Will keep you dry throughout the round and does not cling onto the body to inhibit motion. Structure stays crisp throughout the round. - Stretchable, does not restrict motion during golf, sweat or not. - Longer length to stay tuck in. Note: - It runs big overall. The model shown is 6’1” and he is wearing a Medium. Seeing that, I bought a Small even though I normally wear medium. It fits my upper body perfectly with a little room to spare. - It also runs a little long. It will definitely stay tucked in throughout the round. However, it is too long for me to wear it untucked. I am 5’ 8”. Overall I like the shirt’s quality and a reasonable price for a golf shirt. It would have been perfect had it not been a little long for untuck wear.
