Light drives both color depth and leaf size. Place it in an east or south-facing window where it gets bright, consistent light without direct sun sitting on the leaves. Under grow lights, use 5000K–6500K placed 10–12 inches from the top of the plant. In lower light, new leaves come in more green and smaller, and the plant will stretch between nodes. Strong light keeps the foliage darker, larger, and more compact.

Watering should stay balanced with good airflow at the roots. Allow the soil to partially dry out between waterings, then water thoroughly and let it drain, using a mix of succulent soil, perlite, and orchid bark. If new leaves emerge smaller with less of that deep tone, it is reacting to lower light, not lack of water.
