Philodendron Mexicanum: A Narrow-Leaved Beauty with Tropical Elegance

Philodendron Mexicanum is a visually captivating variety known for its narrow, elongated leaves and its ability to thrive in a range of environments. This unique Philodendron stands out in any collection, and its exotic appearance has made it a popular choice among tropical plant collectors. Whether you're new to indoor gardening or a seasoned plant enthusiast, this plant will impress with its stunning foliage and relatively low-maintenance care requirements.

Why Philodendron Mexicanum Stands Out in Your Collection

  • Narrow, Elongated Leaves: This variety features long, lance-shaped leaves that create a striking visual contrast in your plant collection.
  • Tropical Charm: With its lush green appearance, Philodendron Mexicanum adds a touch of tropical elegance to any indoor space.

Form — Long lines with sculpted shoulders
Philodendron mexicanum is all about elegant geometry. Juvenile leaves begin slim and simple; with steady light and a support, blades lengthen into a distinctive trilobed profile—a long, tapering central lobe with two neat, backward-swept basal lobes that frame the petiole. The silhouette reads tailored rather than busy, so it delivers vertical impact without overwhelming small rooms. Surfaces finish satin to semi-gloss, catching side light in a clean highlight along the midrib.

Colorway — Glossy green with a secret underside
Typical tones show mid- to deep-green on top with a subtle burgundy to maroon wash beneath, especially on fresh leaves. That two-tone reveals itself when the vine climbs or when air stirs the foliage, adding depth in photos and in person. Keep descriptions conservative and match to your product images; expression naturally varies leaf to leaf and with lighting.

Habit — A true climber with neat spacing
This species is a disciplined climber that responds immediately to guidance. Secure the main stem to a slim moss pole, coco totem, or flat board and you’ll see tighter internodes, broader lamina, and more pronounced basal lobes with each node. Allowed to trail, leaves remain slimmer and the tri-lobe is softer—pretty, but the architectural potential shines most when it goes upward. The overall footprint stays modest, perfect for consoles, window flanks, and studio corners that need height.

Light — Where lines stay crisp
Aim for bright, diffused daylight all day: east-window glow, bright north exposure, or a luminous pocket behind sheers. Even luminance keeps spacing compact, supports mature lobing, and preserves the underside’s wine tone. Deep shade stretches gaps and dulls color; unfiltered midday sun can warm tender new tissue, especially along the narrow tips of the central lobe.

Water & Medium — Air first, then moisture

  • Rhythm: When the top 2–3 cm (≈1 in) of mix dries, water thoroughly and allow complete drainage. A calm cadence—not constant wet—keeps edges clean and unfurls smooth on long blades. Empty saucers.
  • Substrate: Build an oxygen-forward aroid blend: ~40% chunky orchid bark (structure), ~25% coco fiber/coir (even moisture), ~20% pumice or perlite (airflow), ~10% horticultural charcoal, plus a light sphagnum buffer. Choose a drainage-first vessel sized just over the root mass.
  • Climate & feed: 18–29 °C (65–85 °F), ~50–70% RH, gentle airflow. Light nutrition at ¼–½ strength in active months supports confident sizing and color clarity—optimize light before increasing fertilizer.

Styling — Compose a clean, modern line

  • Planter palette: Matte stoneware in sand, ecru, oatmeal, or charcoal frames the glossy green and doesn’t fight the burgundy underside.
  • Backdrop & materials: Limewash, pale timber, microcement, or honed stone let the long central lobe cast soft, directional shadows.
  • Compositions: Run one leader vertically and let a secondary shoot arc slightly for depth. Pair with a velvety Anthurium (plush vs. sleek) or a silver-washed Scindapsus (cool foil). Keep accessories low-gloss so the form leads.

Diagnostics — Signals → Adjustments

  • Long gaps / softer lobes: Raise overall brightness (still filtered) and secure each node snugly to the support.
  • Leaf tip crisping: Often late watering or dry drafts—tighten cadence and soften airflow.
  • Flat color / underside looks dull: Improve even luminance; side-light brings back depth without glare.
  • Mix stays wet for days: Increase bark/pumice fraction or step down one pot size for faster oxygen exchange.
  • Leaning column: Refresh soft ties and add a discreet stake until aerial roots anchor into the pole.

Tall, clean, and quietly dramatic, Philodendron mexicanum delivers a designer’s line drawing in living green—easy routine, compact footprint, and architecture that scales with your space.

Very good Toothpaste - I would highly recommend
Flavor Name: Mint, Size: Pack of 1 (4 Ounce)
Please note clean mint is not the only flavor on Ollie’s website you can buy Clean cinnamon and Orange. I like both flavor although the Cinnamon has a more pleasant taste. Why I like this tooth paste because they have more are Fluoride free, more fluoride comes for industrial waste product and used as rat poison known as sodium fluoride. If you ever find a bag of concentrated flouride is has a skull and bones safety warning on it. Ollie presents as a good working tooth paste that has all natural ingredients that are safe to swallow. I know people will point out Zythol as being recorded to cause stomach issues but that’s mostly from chewing gum based products that are Sugae free in nature Since using Ollie my dentist and hygienist notice a big difference is: Gum health, teeth looking cleaner and brighter and a lot less hot / cold and pain sensitivity. Another big factor I like about Ollie is a simple thing, their tubes of tooth paste are sealed before you can use them, most store brands are not. That makes me feel more comfortable that the product isn’t tainted by someone

Works and tastes good too.
I've tried several different brands of nano hydroxyapatite toothpaste. This is the first one that makes my teeth look brighter and feel healthier. My husband likes it too.

Good Stuff!
Flavor Name: Mint, Size: Pack of 1 (4 Ounce)
I have been trying different non fluoride toothpaste and I think I have found a winner! This toothpaste leaves my teeth clean and my mouth fresh! The texture is great and I am impressed with the ingredients. The price is a little pricey but you only need a pea size amount. Very easy to use and does not run out of the tube like some non fluorides Ive used. Definitely will buy again!

Great book that is very hard to sit down!
Format: Paperback
As someone deeply interested in frequency therapy and holistic health, I found The Frequencies of Rifing by Marcello Allegretti to be an exceptional resource that stands out for its depth, clarity, and organization. This book is a treasure trove of information, making it an essential guide for anyone using Rife machines or exploring electromagnetic frequency applications. What sets this book apart is its highly informative content. It compiles an impressive collection of over 7,000 frequency sets, covering everything from human body organs and pathogens to diseases, homeopathic products, minerals, vitamins, and even chakras. The inclusion of frequencies from various sources, such as Royal Rife, Hulda Clark, and others, alongside experimental sets, ensures a broad and versatile reference that caters to both beginners and seasoned practitioners. I particularly appreciated the detailed notes accompanying each entry, which specify the frequency in Hz, the organ or condition targeted, and recommended exposure times. These details make the book not only informative but also highly practical for real-world application. The charts and tables are a highlight of this book. They are meticulously organized, reliable, and easy to navigate, thanks to the thoughtful categorization by subject matter. Unlike other resources where frequencies are listed alphabetically, making cross-referencing a chore, this guide groups related frequencies together, streamlining the process of finding the right program for a specific need. For example, searching for frequencies related to “eyesight” or “vision” is a breeze, as they’re consolidated in one section, regardless of the terminology used in different databases. This level of organization saves time and enhances the usability of the book, whether you’re programming a Spooky2 device or another Rife machine. The overall presentation of the book is equally impressive. Spanning over 270 full-color pages, it’s visually appealing and well-structured, with a clear table of contents that facilitates quick access to relevant sections. The layout is intuitive, making it easy to locate specific frequencies or explore related topics like magnetotherapy or light/color therapies. While some have noted that the font size in earlier editions was small, I found the formatting in the latest edition to be readable and well-suited for practical use. In conclusion, The Frequencies of Rifing is a must-have for anyone serious about frequency therapy. Its comprehensive scope, reliable charts, and exceptional organization make it an invaluable tool for both novice and experienced users of Rife technology. This book has earned a permanent spot next to my Rife machine, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to deepen their understanding and application of frequency-based healing.
