Weeds Controlled
Product Overview
Product Type Herbicide
Product Name Kyleo
MAPP No. 16567
Active Substances

Glyphosate & 2,4-D

Formulation Soluble concentrate
Areas of Use

All edible & non edible crops (stubble), amenity grassland, amenity vegetation, apple & pear (around), grassland, green cover on land not being used for crop production, hard surfaces (railway ballast only)

Amateur/Professional Professional

Kyleo is a systemic penetrant total herbicide containing 240g/l glyphosate and 160g/l 2,4-D for the control of annual & perennial grasses and most broad-leaved weeds on ground prior to the planting of crops, around amenity vegetation and orchards, for destruction of grassland and amenity grassland, and on hard surfaces (railway ballast only). It can be applied at a rate of up to 5L/ha once per year.

Kyleo is a highly effective foliar applied herbicide which targets weeds through the use of two active substances in a convenient to use  premixed formulation . 2,4-D goes to work by twisting plant and causing cells to burst whilst glyphosate  shuts down the production of proteins needed for plant growth. Both active substances are systemic meaning that they are transported from the plant leaves to the roots of the plant resulting in control of the whole plant, not just top growth.

Kyleo is rainfast in just one hour making application possible in difficult conditions. The two in one formulation means that a lower dose of glyphosate is required than in a conventional tank mix.  Kyleo controls annual and perennial weeds and can be used as part of an integrated weed management plan for tackling difficult to control weeds such as horsetail, bindweed, creeping thistle and common couch grass.

  • All edible & non edible crops (stubble)
  • Amenity grassland - Areas of semi-natural or planted grassland subject to minimal or non-intensive management including predominantly grassed railway embankments and roadside verges.
  • Amenity vegetation - Any areas of semi natural or ornamental vegetation including railway embankments, roadside verges, areas of bare soil around ,or intended for, ornamental plants.
  • Grassland (destruction) - Land grown for grass production includes short and long-term grass leys and permanent pasture, which may be grazed and /or cut for subsequent animal consumption.
  • Green cover on land not being used for crop production.
  • Hard surfaces (railway ballast only)

For a full list of authorised crops please consult the product label.

When to use

Apply once grasses and broad-leaved weeds have emerged and are actively growing (normally March to October).  For best results:

  • Annual grasses should have at least 5cm of leaf
  • Broad leaved weeds should have two expanded true leaves
  • Perennial grasses must have full emergence of healthy, green leaf
Application Window
Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Jul Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec

How to use

Kyleo should be applied using a conventional  hydraulic sprayer using a medium spray nozzle at a rate of 3-5l/ha in 100-500l/ha water

 Type of Weed Application Rate
Annual grasses 3l/ha
Perennial grasses 5l/ha
Broad leaved weeds  l/ha
  • Before spraying ensure that the spraying equipment has been thoroughly cleaned
  • Half fill the spray tank with clean water
  • Add the required quantity of Kyleo through the filter whilst constantly circulating the contents of the spray tank
  • Continue circulating the contents and top up with the remaining water
  • After use wash out the spray tank with water and a wetting agent then rinse again with clean water

Additional Information

  • Do not use under polythene or glass
  • Application of lime, fertiliser, farmyard manure and pesticides should be delayed until 5 days after application of Kyleo
  • After application large quantities of decaying foliage, stolons, roots or rhizomes should be dispersed or buried by thorough cultivation before crop drilling
  • Do not use in or alongside hedges or on impermeable surfaces and other situations with a high risk of run-off
  • Do not apply by hand-held equipment
  • Avoid contact with non-target plants and do not use windfall fruit as food or feeding stuff
  • Do not contaminate water with the product or its container
  • Livestock must be kept out of treated areas. Where ragwort is present animals should be excluded from treated areas until any ragwort has completely recovered or died and there is no visible sign of the dead weed
  • Do not spray in windy conditions

Active Substances

Glyphosate

Bio-Chemical Mode of Action: Glyphosate belongs to the Inhibition of Enolpyruvyl Shikimate Phosphate Synthase (ESPS) group of herbicides.

ESPS herbicides work by shutting down the shikimate pathway which is used in the production of the proteins it needs to grow and survive.

Mobility: Glyphosate is a systemic penetrant which means that the active substance can be translocated downwards through the plant within the phloem (sugar conducting tissues) and upwards through the plant within the xylem (water conducting tissues).

Application timing: ESPS herbicides are best applied when the weeds are actively growing. They are generally more effective when target plants are younger and in their vegetative phases.

Resistance: As of 2018, 38 weed species distributed across 37 countries and in 34 different crop and 6 non-crop situations had been identified.

2,4-D

Bio-Chemical Mode of Action: 2,4-D belongs to the synthetic auxins group of herbicides.

Synthetic auxins work by inducing rapid abnormal cell growth and development in the stems, petioles and leaves of susceptible plants causing cell bursts and ultimately cell and plant death.

Mobility: 2,4-D is a systemic penetrant which means that the active substance can be translocated downwards through the plant within the phloem (sugar conducting tissues) and upwards through the plant within the xylem (water conducting tissues).

Application timing: Systemic auxins are best applied when the weeds are actively growing. They are generally more effective when target plants are younger and in their vegetative phases.

Resistance: The incidences of resistance to synthetic auxins remains relatively low which is assumed to be because the herbicide has multiple sites of action.

However, resistance to synthetic auxins has been observed globally with 36 species being confirmed as resistant as of 2017. Best management practices, such as alternating with products with a different mode of action and using cultural weed control methods, will help to reduce the risk of further resistance.

SPOT Bungee Raccoon
Purchased 5/20. Decent dog toy. I have a Chiyorkie and he chews on his toys constantly. The squeakers went after a couple of days and then he pulled them out. I put them in the trash. After about two months he had chewed off the head and pulled the bungee out. The bungee went in the trash. I let him play with head and tail pieces for a while but the head had gotten into bad shape so in the trash it went. That left about a twelve inch piece left. He has been playing with that now about a month. He loved tearing the toy up and I do not really blame the toy. He rips up anything that is made of cloth. The only real issue I have with the toy is the two squeakers. IMO they could cause a choking or bowel blocking hazard. I just happened to catch him chewing on them after he had gotten them back. An old knotted on each end knee sock works just about as well but from then on don't leave your socks laying around. They will be fair game for you pet. lol

Fun but.... doesnt stand up to hard play
A very fun toy. My dog loved it - short term. The bungee broke on Day 1 from pulling. (It is designed to be a tug toy, so I assume it should have lasted longer). After a couple weeks, my dog had pulled it apart. Super fun toy, but not for hard play.

Durable against many rounds of zoomies
Strong bungee cord for sure, and my pup really likes pulling on it and playing tug with it. Originally bought it to encourage him away from underwear and socks, which almost worked. He likes chewing on the feet of the raccoon, so they’ve come off, but the lack of stuffing is wonderful. This is one of the longer lasting toys he’s had, and he’s had it for a couple of months, with its functionality still 100%. This seems to be almost like a toy within a toy, as you’ll still have the band when the rest is gone. Worth the money.

Cheap, and durable!
I bought this toy as a cheap temporary toy for my Rough Collie. Well, a month or so later, it's still alive. She has performed a 'squeakerectomy' on it, and it's lost it's springiness, but she still loves it.

Love the Stretch
I have two 15 ish pound dogs that love to pull and tug on this toy...all day long, every day. It's long enough for the humans in the house to also grab an end and not worry about getting nipped by playful pups. The fact that it stretches seems to be even more fun for the dogs. We have several other similar unstuffed long toys but they get very little attention. This toy is definitely unique and a cut above the other similar toys. The stretch seems to make all of the difference. If they had more animal choices, I would buy them all.
