Best Liquid Fertilizer for Fiddle Leaf Fig Trees

Perfect Plants' Liquid Fig Food promotes huge leaves and fewer brown spots

Fiddle leaf fig trees are popular houseplants that most houseplant lovers seek out even though beginners may find them finicky to care for. They’re worth the wait, though, since their deep green glossy leaves are beautiful to look at! Our liquid fiddle leaf fig fertilizer will help your plant stay happy and shiny and take a lot of the struggle out of caring for it!

This fiddle leaf fig fertilizer has an NPK ratio of 9-3-6, allowing the plant to develop healthy foliage. It also contains calcium, magnesium, sulfur, copper, iron, manganese, and zinc, all of which help the plant grow steadily and strongly. When you follow the directions on the bottle, your plant will receive the appropriate amount of nutrients it needs.

Apply this mixture when it’s time to water your plant. You can mix this fertilizer solution into a container of water and apply as little or as much as you need it. The prepared mixture can be stored and saved for next time, so you don’t have to worry about wasting the excess.

While this liquid fiddle leaf fig fertilizer will provide your plant with all the nutrients it needs, you can give your plant an extra boost with our Fiddle Leaf Fig Soil to help it develop strong roots and broad leaves.

How to Fertilize Fiddle Leaf Fig with Liquid Fertilizer

Mix one teaspoon of the liquid fertilizer into one gallon of water. You can make more if you need to as long as you follow the same ratio of fertilizer and water. You can store extra fertilizer in a container and use it next time. So, if one gallon is too much, you don’t have to throw it away.

You don’t have to follow special directions to apply the fertilizer to your plant. Water your fiddle leaf fig as usual but use the fertilizer instead of regular water when it’s time to feed your plant. It’s as easy as that!

How Often to Fertilize Fiddle Leaf Fig with Liquid Fertilizer

Knowing when to fertilize fiddle leaf figs is essential since an unhappy plant will die quickly.

We recommend fertilizing once every two weeks in spring and summer and once a month in the winter for the best results. Not every plant is the same, however, so you may need to adjust how often you fertilize it based on its needs.

You can tell when it’s time to water your plant when the top two inches of the soil are dry. Feel the soil with your finger before you water it so you can be sure it’s time to water so you don’t accidentally give it too much water.

Your fiddle leaf fig will have crunchy brown leaves if your plant doesn’t have enough water. A severely underwatered plant is difficult to bring back, so it’s important to start watering it more frequently right away.

If your plant develops yellow leaves, it’s likely because it has too much water. Water less frequently and only when the top two inches of the soil are dry.

If you start to notice your plant turning yellow or showing other signs of dying and the only difference you made to your watering schedule is the fertilizer, it might mean your plant is receiving too many nutrients. Try reducing how often you fertilize to see if your plant responds better.

Tiny but Mighty Cleaner That Saved My Couch
Color: Tea Green, Style: Little Green Mini, Color: Tea Green, Style: Little Green Mini
I had wanted the Bissell Little Green for the longest time. If you have pets or children, a portable carpet and upholstery cleaner like this can come in very handy. One of my cats unfortunately peed on my couch, and I thought it might be the end of the line for it since it is a power recliner with non removable cushions. I picked this up as a last resort, and honestly also as an excuse to finally buy one. I debated between the plug in and cordless versions, but ultimately chose the corded model because it has almost twice the suction power. At first I thought the suction felt a bit weak, but once I saw the liquid it was pulling up I was very impressed. During the passes I could literally see yellowish liquid being extracted. It was gross and satisfying at the same time. I was also surprised by how brown and dirty the recovered water was. This machine is tiny but mighty. Weighing around 7 pounds, the Little Green is light and easy to carry around the house. It is also a bit quieter than a traditional vacuum. Cleanup is straightforward. You simply remove the dirty water tank and rinse it out. The vacuum head attachment rinses easily as well. For the hose, you can use the self cleaning tool by pressing the nozzle and running water through it for about 30 seconds. There are still some lingering smells, but based on the color of the extracted water it clearly did a lot of work. I just need to do a few more cleaning sessions on my couch. I am glad I finally bit the bullet and gave the Little Green a try. This adorable little machine may have saved me hundreds of dollars compared to hiring a professional cleaner or replacing my couch. Overall, I would absolutely recommend it for pet owners and anyone who needs a reliable upholstery and spot cleaner.

5 Stars for Suction, but the "Drill Brush Hack" makes it 10 Stars
Color: Tea Green, Style: Little Green Mini
I bought the Bissell Little Green Mini to handle the inevitable "kid and pet" messes that don't justify dragging out a full-sized upright. It’s impressively lightweight, about 45% lighter than the original and, in my opinion, seemingly more durable. The 4-foot flexible hose makes it perfect for stairs and car interiors. The Secret Sauce: The Drill Brush Pairing While the included 4" Tough Stain Tool is great for light scrubbing, the real game-changer is pairing this machine with a soft-bristle drill brush. My Process: I spray the stain using the Little Green’s trigger, let it sit for 30 seconds, then use the drill brush on a low setting to agitate the fibers. The Result: This combo lifts deeply embedded dirt and old pet stains that manual scrubbing just can't touch. Once agitated, I use the Little Green’s powerful suction to pull everything out. The water in the dirty tank is always satisfyingly (and gross) dark. Key Performance Notes Suction Power: Don't let the "Mini" tag fool you; the suction is strong enough to leave upholstery nearly dry to the touch. Spray Effectiveness: The built-in spray trigger is precise. It delivers a wide, even mist rather than a messy stream, which is crucial for saturating a stain without soaking the underlying foam padding. Self-Cleaning Feature: The HydroRinse tool is a lifesaver. It flushes the hose after use, preventing that "old damp carpet" smell from developing inside the machine. Portability: It’s small enough to store in a standard bathroom cabinet, making it much more accessible for "emergency" spills. Pros & Cons Pros: Extreme Portability: Easy to carry around the house or out to the driveway. Long Reach: The 12-foot power cord gives you plenty of room to move. Formula Efficiency: A little bit of the Oxy Spot & Stain formula goes a long way. Cons: Small Tanks: Because it’s a "Mini," you will be emptying the dirty tank frequently if you’re doing a whole couch. Loud: Like most portable extractors, it has a high-pitched motor whine.

Works as expected but won’t replace professional carpet cleaning
Color: Tea Green, Style: Little Green Mini
I’d say this little green machine was worth the money. I’ve had it for a few months, and these are my pros and cons: Pros: -good size, easily stored in my closet -cord length is long enough for my needs -gets new stains out if I act quickly after spilling -comes with carpet cleaner (unlike if I were to rent a carpet cleaner from my hardware store) -great for spot cleaning Cons: -I can only spray the cleaning solution if the vacuum feature is turned on. I would like to spray and then wait a while, then turn on the vacuum feature. I could be doing this wrong, but I haven’t figured out a way to change this feature. -the suction isn’t as strong as I’d like. I recently got my carpets professionally cleaned, and I understood why that service is still necessary even if I’m spot-cleaning with my little green guy often.

Great for Small Messes, but Not a Full Carpet Cleaner Replacement
Color: Tea Green, Style: Little Green Mini
I’ve been using this for spot cleaning, and overall it’s one of those tools that’s really handy to have around. The biggest strength is how well it handles small messes. It sprays, scrubs, and sucks up stains pretty effectively—especially on things like car seats, couches, or small carpet spots. The suction is surprisingly strong for such a small unit, which is why these are so popular for quick cleanups and pet messes. () It’s also compact and easy to carry, so you’re not dragging out a full carpet cleaner every time something spills. That’s honestly where it shines the most. On the downside, it’s not perfect. The tank is pretty small, so you’ll be refilling and emptying it if you’re doing anything more than a few spots. () The hose and cord length are decent but can feel a little limiting depending on where you’re cleaning. Another thing is that while it cleans well, it can leave things a bit damp afterward, so drying time is something to keep in mind. And like most machines in this category, it can get a little loud. Overall, it’s a really solid little machine for what it’s meant to do—quick, targeted cleaning. Just don’t expect it to replace a full-size carpet cleaner for deep cleaning large areas.

            Super efficient
Color: Tea Green, Style: Little Green Mini
Easy to use. Light weight. Great on upholstery and carpet spots. Tank is not large enough to do area rugs or carpet, but great for smaller cleanups.
