Hydnophytum papuanum as a species has been combined with and is now technically known as Hydnophytum moseleyanum.
Loves high humidity, where it can draw moisture from the air. Grows best when watered regularly, soil should be kept slightly damp, never wet as it is susceptible to rot. Indirect bright light is preferable, will tolerate lower light levels but growth will be much slower. Since there are no ants to deposit excrement inside the tuber, fertilize during the growing season with a liquid houseplant fertilizer.
