Fafard potting soil for indoor plants is designed to meet the specific requirements of container gardening. Its formulation, based on organic matter, sphagnum peat moss, perlite, and vermiculite, creates a balanced substrate capable of supporting stable growth in an indoor environment often characterized by fluctuating light and humidity.
Its lightweight structure promotes efficient root development and adequate air circulation within the pot, while maintaining a reserve of moisture between waterings. This balance between drainage and water retention helps to minimize root stress, an essential condition for maintaining dense foliage and harmonious growth.
How to use
Use for repotting or potting new plants. Choose a container with drainage holes, place a layer of potting soil, position the root ball, then fill without excessively compacting to preserve aeration.
Water after planting to ensure good contact between the roots and the substrate. Then adjust the watering frequency according to the specific needs of the plant, the light and the ambient temperature.
Plants concerned
Suitable for ferns, philodendrons, pothos, spider plants, dracaenas, African violets, and many other indoor succulents. Ideal for decorative pots, planters, and other residential containers.
Features and benefits
Lightweight and airy structure
Perlite improves the porosity of the mixture, promoting root oxygenation and reducing the risk of compaction.
Balanced moisture retention
Sphagnum peat moss and vermiculite retain water while gradually making it available, limiting water fluctuations.
Initial nutritional intake
Organic matter helps support recovery after repotting and vegetative development.
pH suitable for indoor growing
A balanced pH promotes the assimilation of essential elements, particularly in prolonged pot culture.
Versatility of use
Suitable for a wide range of houseplants, facilitating maintenance and substrate renewal over the seasons.
