Care instructions:

Sunlight: Place your Rainbow Hedgehog Cactus in a location with plenty of bright, indirect sunlight. Ensure it receives at least 6 hours of sunlight per day.

Watering: Practice the "Waterboard that bish" method. Water the cactus thoroughly, allowing excess water to drain away. Wait until the soil is completely dry before watering again. Be cautious of overwatering, especially during the dormant winter months.

Soil: Use well-draining cactus or succulent mix, like our Magic Succulent Soilju. A mix designed for desert plants will provide the ideal conditions for your Rainbow Hedgehog Cactus. Add perlite or sand to enhance drainage if needed.

Temperature: Rainbow Hedgehog Cacti thrive in warm temperatures. Keep them in an environment where temperatures range between 70°F to 100°F (21°C to 38°C) during the day. Protect them from temperatures below 50°F (10°C) to prevent damage.

Humidity: These cacti prefer low humidity environments, mimicking their native habitat. Avoid placing them in overly humid conditions, especially during the winter months.

Fertilization: Feed your Rainbow Hedgehog Cactus with a diluted, balanced cactus fertilizer during the growing season (spring and summer) every 4-6 weeks. Refrain from fertilizing during the dormant winter period.

Pruning: Minimal pruning is needed. Remove any dead or damaged stems with clean, sharp scissors or pruning shears. Wear gloves to protect your hands from the spines.

Pests: Keep an eye out for common cactus pests like spider mites and scale. Treat any infestations promptly with insecticidal soap or neem oil.

Dormancy: Rainbow Hedgehog Cacti experience a period of dormancy during the winter. Reduce watering frequency during this time, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Limit fertilization during dormancy.

Caution: Handle the cactus with care, as the spines can be sharp. Keep out of reach of pets and children.

Durable
My dogs love this one so much that we had to order another one so they wouldn't fight over it. They usually destroy toys in less than a day, but this one has lasted months now.

Determined Chewer Approved
Durable, but not impenetrable! My 68lb Lab got this in the mail today and happily chewed on it for around an hour non-stop. She is a strong and determined chewer, but not a super chewer. She destroys "moderate" rubber chew toys in a flash, but doesn't like hard nylon chews, so finding a rubber chew that can withstand her dilligent gnawing and suit her preferences is a rarity. This one absolutely is a win! The material is most similar to nylabone's Rhino rubber (compared to the Crazy Ball), and with time and continued chomps it will sustain damage, but for my dog (strong, not super chewer) it takes a lot of time to wear out and the early breaks are tiny like specks of sand. It's a safe choice for my dog, and she loves the texture of this toy!

The One
It’s actually indestructible 🤘🏻🫡 My dog has destroyed every “aggressive chewer” dog toy on this website. Finally found one that is true to its name. Will be ordering many more.

Watch your aggressive chewer
My pit bull chewed up one of these in short order. Probably OK for normal dogs but not aggressive chewers. UPDATE: He swallowed a piece and had to have surgery for obstruction…
